This is extremely confusing. (P.O.V. of Ayman)

It was like Valentine's day but in March, and more exclusive to the members of what once was the Sunshine Dynasty. It was as if Cupid was spawned himself to make a romance novel out of that reunion party.

"So, apparently Rudaina's in the city." said Thea

It had been way too long since i'd heard that name. It was one of the major turning points of my whole school life, possibly my whole life itself. My very first heartbreak.

"You of all people should know how much i despise her" I replied

"I know, but i'm just letting you know, so it doesn't come off as a meteor if we somehow happen to bump into her" said Thea

I was hoping that she hadn't been living a joyful life in London, like she always said she would, because she'd traumatised my little teenage heart.

The next stop on our list was Jackson Heights. Way back in 2018, Thea went to America in summer. After she came back, she developed a funny accent. We used to mock her about it all the time and call it a Jackson Heights accent.

We'd always wanted to visit Jackson Heights for one thing :
Bengali Food.

Apparently it was the best food from home we could get, so far away from home. On our way there, we passed by Broadway and Thea was saying how she always wanted to see a show on Broadway. Because I missed her birthday last month, and i knew i'd meet her this month during the reunion, i secretly bought two tickets two Lion King on Broadway as a birthday gift.

As we reach our destination, the smell of curry and sweaty armpits rushed to our senses, it hit home. We walked towards gigantic neon signs labelled, "INTERNACHIONAL FOOD WELCAM". It was pretty normal for our kind to be this bad at spelling.

In the shallow distance, i spotted something out of the ordinary. It was two people who seemed familiar, at a grocery shop together. I recognised the girl being Rudaina, picking up some vegetables.

"Speak of the devil and she appears" said Thea

"Right." I replied

But there was someone with her who also seemed familiar. It was Neehan. I was shocked and disgusted at the same time. Is this what had become of my brother?

Turns out, Neehan and Rudaina had been married, for 4 years and running. They have been facing issues and Neehan is ashamed of his wife. He has been seeking escape ever since.

This was a couple I'd wanted to confront. Firstly, Neehan, for hiding something this big from me and secondly, Rudaina for wrecking my brother's life.

Engulfed with anger and confusion, i walked with fierce steps towards them.
