daniel casually links his pinky finger with hers.

they weren't dating, but that was kind of a thing they do. they were really comfortable with each other.

they walk to the car park. daniel opens the car door for hana, letting her in before going to the driver's seat.

"where are we going?" she asks curiously.

"hm, you know that one shopping district street kinda thing? you said you liked it there right? i'm bringing you" daniel smiles.

he starts the car, backing out of the parking spot, he catches her smile at the corner of his eyes. he smiles to himself and they head off.

reaching the area, daniel parks his car at a parking lot. they link fingers again and walk to the district. it was a cross section at some large main roads of korea. with shops lining the sidewalks and people wandering here and there, it was always lively.

"i.. want to get you something" daniel mumbles.

"what was that?" hana asks, looking at the taller boy beside her.

"I want to get you something" he says this time, more confidently.

hana smiles, her grin reaching ear to ear and her eyes turning into crescents.

"you dont have to, y'know-"

"it's kind of a thing i want you to keep forever, like, when we're apart" daniel cuts her off.

her smile drops, the corner of her lips drooping down.

"don't say that. we'll be together forever. now let's go"

it was difficult getting through the day when that sentence was the only thing going through daniel's head.

they spent the day in the city, daniel spots a second hand vintage shop. his eyes lighting up, he takes hana by the wrist.

"hey, let's go check out that store"

they wander on their own, daniel looks for a gift for hana carefully. something catches his eye. he sees two identical key chains. he walks over to them, putting them in his hand delicately and examining it. it was a small glass bottle, with a bit of sand and a bunch of small dried daffodil inside.

a small girl in an apron approaches daniel.

"do youtake a liking for this sir?" she asks.

"oh, i was just looking" daniel says.

"that's a daffodil isn't it" she smiles slightly. "daffodils symbolize new beginnings and eternal life. unrequited love. a singly daffodil can mean a misfortune while a bunch of them indicate joy and happiness." she recites.

daniel is slightly amazed.

"i used to work with my mom at her florists, now im just here helping my brother. do consider buying that though, it was one of my personal favorites when i came in" she bows at daniel and leaves right afterwards.

he picks up the two and goes to the register. the man handling the register puts the dainty key chains into a paper bag and hands it to daniel, he pays for the items and says a quick "thank you" before catching a glimpse of hana's back outside of the store.

he rushes outside quickly.

"aw, did i keep you waiting?" daniel apologizes.

"oh no no, i just liked it outside. the sunset's pretty isnt it"

"here, i'll bring you somewhere" he finally gains the courage to take hana by the hand, intertwining their fingers.

he brings her to a park near the street. just a little bit away from it. the volume of the hustle and bustle lowers. they sit on a pair of swings, the chains rattling slightly from their weight.

a perfect view of the setting sun was in front of them. hana stares at the view before her in a daze. it was, breathtaking. shades of orange and yellow painted the sky like a palette as the huge orange sun slowly went down. it looked like it came straight out of a painting.

daniel looks at her side profile, his heart aching. it was the end of the day, he knew he had to bring it up.

"...hana?"

she looks back at him, puzzled at his sad expression.

"..what is it?"

"i'm moving. "
