I think she wants to hurt me.

But that's her way of love,

So it's okay.

After all, she opened up her heart,

Told me the secrets she keeps in the dark.

How can I run away?

We are so alike.

We are a pair of twisted hearts,

With warped ideas of love.

We were never taught what love's supposed to be.

So ours became darker,

Until love was possessive,

Borderline obsession.

Violent and tying.

Ropes and restraints,

Knives and pain.

Bruises mar my skin,

Already criss-crossed by scars.

Badges of honor from previous loves.

She doesn't believe she deserves love.

I believe I am a poisonous monster.

We air our violent delights,

Eyes sparkling at the power we have.

We create to destroy,

We long to break,

We dream of felling the mighty,

To have them beg on their knees.

But for now we have each other,

Ink black hearts beating

For one another.
