He stood still with a subtle smile on his lips as his eyes wandered around watching his grandchildren play, his children and loved ones eat as they celebrate his birthday. It was such a happy day for everyone, his gargantuan number of supporters were also celebrating and sending him prayers and wishes online as his personal aide, Bong, showed it to him through his smartphone.

He's very much grateful to have everyone and everything that day but there was a part in him that keeps telling him that something is missing.

"Ano pa bang mareregalo ko? Nasakanya na yata lahat." His smile fainted as he recalled hearing Leni asking Bong what to give him for his birthday.

He sighed, a subtle prickle dwelled on his chest. If there is something missing in him, it's her. If she only knew how much she meant to him. If it was that easy for him to let her know, he would but he has always been uncertain of her side. He was sure that he likes her but it has always been a high doubt that she feels or would ever feel the same way. He was a confident man but with her? He never felt like he was enough.

He looked blankly at the floor as he thought about her. Sana nandito ka, mas magiging masaya siguro ako. He couldn't believe he was even hoping, he laughed at himself. Why would my birthday even matter? Presidente mo lang naman ako.

It has always been his reminder to himself whenever his heart skips a beat when she exerts effort to get his attention. Presidente niya ako eh, she is my subordinate. It's normal to please someone with a higher position.

"Tay." Sara interrupted him, she always see him being in the zone lately. "Ang lalim nanaman ng iniisip natin ah?" He chuckled in response.

"Ang saya saya ng lahat, yung may birthday tulala." She remarked. "Wala. Wala." He didn't know what to say. "Wag ka mag-alala, tay. Iniisip ka rin niya." She cheered him up.

"Gagi," he laughed. "Sino mang mag-iisip sakin?" He followed. "Eh sino ba yung iniisip mo?" She returned. "Sino? Di ba pwedeng ano?" He retorted. "Nako tay. Kilala na kita, babae lang nakakapagpatulala sa'yo. Sinasabi ko sa'yo, magsaya ka na lang. Iniisip ka rin non." She replied.

"Sino ngang nag-iisip?" He asked. "Sino nga yung iniisip mo?" She asked in return. He rolled his eyes, "si Leni."

"Oh, iniisip ka nga non."
"Tignan mo 'tong gaging 'to—"
"Hala, akala nagbibiro. Andiyan siya sa labas." Sara spilled.

Rodrigo was speechless for a moment trying to assess if his daughter is just pranking him. "Ano na tay? Tatayo ka nalang diyan?" She dared him. He was still doubting his daughter, "kanina iniisip, ngayon mang nandiyan na ayaw naman puntahan," she triggered.

"Nandiyan si Leni?" He finally gave in by asking. Sara chuckeld, "nasa may gate nga, ayaw pumasok nahihiya. Dali na." She walked him to the gate.

Rodrigo couldn't believe his eyes, Leni was really at the gate with only her personal guards.

"Ma'am." He uttered feeling a bit remorse for not attending to her right away.

"Sir," she uttered and slightly bowed. "Happy birthday." She handed a paper bag to him. "Thank you, thank you. Nag-abala ka pa ma'am." His cheeks started to turn red.

Leni smiled at Sara, she reciprocated to make her feel welcome. "Iwan ko muna kayo." She informed, "ah? Bakit?" Digong stuttered a bit. "Asikasuhin ko sila Sting. Pahiram ako ng blush on mo tay mamaya ha?" She jested, a humor that took a while before Digong grasped. Sara left.

Digong turned to Leni and smiled awkwardly. "Kalog lang talaga ang gaging. Pasensya na mam." He apologized. "Okay lang, sir." She smiled.

"Pasok ka ma'am. Maraming pagkain sa loob—"
"Ay hindi na sir. Nakakahiya. Dumaan lang talaga ako para maabot yang regalo ko." He opened the paper bag and peeked on what's inside — a box of Pili brownies.
