Chapter 26

"Fine! You want me to tell you, then I will!" he yelled and automatically I turned towards him to hear what he has to say, perhaps I will discover something which I hope won't be a lie.

"Enlighten me!" I told him while walking closer to him.

"In my pink enveloped letter there was a yellow sticky note, just like there was in yours, but it was much smaller. In it there was written if I was wondering to go back to my family, give me a minute and I'll show you the paper," he explained to me and then he opened a drawer and he took out the yellow sticky note, "Here you can see it with your own eyes," he said while giving me the sticky note. 

"What are you going to do now? I know that you're wondering what you should do and which way is the best so choose either your family or Samantha?" I read aloud while feeling slightly hurt. Don't ask me how and why, but I had a feeling that he was going to pick his family, probably since family is always counted as more important that friends.

"Who are you going to pick?" I asked him without knowing if I really wanted to know the real answer or not. 

"No one," he told me with a shrug like it wasn't a big deal.

"What?" I asked in shock and he looked into my eyes and gave me the look of what did I say wrong?

"I mean how can you not pick anyone?" I explained my question, "You can't do that, Matt. If you will stay here you will pick me and if you'll go back to your family you will pick them."

"Before I answer you, what will you say and feel if I told you that I'm going pick my family?" he asked me while examining my eyes and my face. 

Hurt flashed through me and I felt as if my heart was about to explode with hurt. "I will..." I started to say, but then I closed my eyes and I admitted the truth, "I will be utterly and completely hurt, but at the same time I will understand that your family is more important. Although if you will leave me I will do wonder why on Earth did you come here with me and why did you spent these one and half year with me without leaving? But on all I would be grateful that you told me now and not when I would have admitted important feelings for you!" I said lastly while feeling tears spreading my eyes.

"Sam I didn't tell you that I'm going to pick them, so chill," he said with a smile. 

"But are you planning onto?" I asked him while making eye contact.

"No, I'm not. Let me explain to you what I'm going to do and please say yes because I don't want to stay away from you! Don't worry I'm not going to ask you to marry me," he said with a smile while saying the last bit. After saying that he came closer to me and he grabbed my hands, a shiver ran through my body. "I love it here, I love the job that I do and mostly the money that I earn from it, but family is much more important to me. Even though I don't regret it coming here with you, I feel guilty to what is happening to my family. While reading the letter I felt as if I created these problems and maybe by going back to them, things might arrange." 

He took a deep breath and then he asked me, "Samantha, will you come with me?"

Not knowing what to tell him, I looked into his eyes and I looked blankly at them. Not hearing me saying anything he asked me with a cocky attitude, "Will it help if I ask you on my knees?" 

Smiling a little bit, I shook my head and I admitted, "I don't know what to do, Matt. I really don't know."

"Come on Sam, come with me," he begged me.
