After our first encounter with the many, many Cullen siblings, Edward has not been at school for a few days and I totally understand why and am kind of thankful. He knows he needs a break to control himself and he is taking it.

Bella was beginning to get suspicious of the boy's disappearance. She told me she wanted to confront him about what happened in their shared class, I said I would be with her when it happened and if it actually did happen.

I haven't spoken to any of the other siblings since Rosalie and Emmett and I changed the table I sat at in the class we had together. The feeling of guilt was oddly strong when I didn't meet their eyes but I was ignoring it for now.

Bella's alarm sounded from her room and it made me sigh heavily at the thought of leaving for school, I didn't want to.

"Violet! We're going to be late!" Bella called from downstairs. Heading downstairs, Bella was there waiting for me quite impatiently. "Is that what you're wearing?" She asked, peering down at my outfit.

I looked down at my clothes as well, "I mean . . . Yeah?"

Bella gave me an expression that told me I was crazy, "It's freezing outside." She told me as she turned to walk out the door. I followed and saw dad pulling next to Bella's truck.

Stepping out onto the ice outside the door, my sister slipped and fell on her ass. I peered down at her and laughed slightly while dad ran over to help.

"You alright?" The man questioned his daughter with worry.

Bella glared playfully at my still amused face, "Yeah, ice doesn't help the uncoordinated." She chuckled with embarrassment.

I placed a hand on her shoulder, "No, ice doesn't help you, Bells." I chuckle. She glared again, I swear it was her only defence mechanism.

Dad laughed at the both of us, "Yeah, that's why I put some new tyres on the truck, the old ones were getting a little bald. Well, I'll probably be late for dinner. Gotta head down to Mason county. A security guard at the Grisham mill got killed by some kind of animal." Dad informed us causing me to stop in my tracks.

"An animal?" Bella questioned the man.

He walked to his police cruiser getting ready to get to work, "You're not in Phoenix anymore, Bells. Anyway, I figured I'd lend a hand."

"Be careful," I told him.

"Always am."

"And thanks for the tyres," Bella added and dad nodded before getting into his car to leave for work. We hopped into our car and Bella drove to school. Could that animal be something else or am I overthinking this?

. . .

It seemed Edward had decided to show his face back at school and Bella couldn't be more anxious about it. She still had her mind set on confronting the boy which, if it was me, I would have forgotten about it but she's a stubborn one.

Lunch rolled around and I sat with Ange and Jess as I usually did, picking at the food on my tray.

Feeling a tap on my arm I looked up to see Ange staring at me, "The Cullens seem to have taken a liking to you." She said with a smirk which was not like her, she's been hanging out with me too much.

I raise an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?" I question her.

She gave me a look, "Haven't you noticed? From the moment you sit down all of their eyes are on you." Ange explained, sounding a lot like Jess when she's gossiping, "Well, maybe not Edward, seeing as he and Bella have a thing going on."
