Enough For Goodbye

Thoughts swirling in this head
Blacker than the night
Darker than the shadows
More deadly than demons
Sharper than a sword
Lonelier than a teen
Nothing seeming to fix it
Nothing there for a remedy
Yet here you are
Right in front of me
Trying to help me
Be the best I can be
You never leave me
Always by my side when
You're needed the most
Nothing has scared you
Away from me yet
And that's the best thing
I could hope for
In this dark abysmal end
Consuming everything
It has ever reached for
Never ceasing to gorge
It's deathly buffet
Upon the only strength
That I have in myself
To fight it without losing
A single bit of ground
Always at a draw
Never ending the battle
Never winning the fight
Barely surviving the day
Yet always in your arms
Is where I long to be
I love you that much
To at least say one thing
Goodbye
