Chap. 13

"Bullshit!" Steve yelled as he slammed the door shut.

We all looked up at him.

"I'm just now getting told we have a rumble tommrow." Steve laughed coldly. Everyone turned to Darry.

"Did you know this?" Dally asked.

"Yep." Darry replied, not looking up from the newspaper.

"And you just were going to wait until last minute to tell us?" Pony snapped.

"Well I was going to tell you until big mouth here." Darry said, nodding toward Steve.

"Why? What's it for?" Johnny asked and he sat Indian style on the floor.

"Socs. They are bothered this one his here." He answered, gesturing to me.

"Me?" I asked.

"Well, you are popular. They probably don't like that." Pony sighed.

"No. You guys don't need to fight over me." I laughed coldly.

"It's just skin and we have the Shepard gang helping, otherwise I wouldn't have agreed." Darry sighed.

"No. This is too much. I'll just go home and-"

"No!" Pony cut me off and everyone stared at him.

"I mean... you can't go back there." Pony said softly.

"I'm not worth fighting over! What if one of you get hurt bad? It'll be on me!" I yelled.

"Ah, y/n, we have beef we need to settle with the socs anyways." Soda cut in.

"No. No. I'll just go grab my things and-" I made my way to the stairs but Dally picked me up.

"Nope. You're stuck with us." Twobit laughed as I tried to squirm out of Dallys grip.

"Put me down! I need to get my things!" I squealed as I tried to break free.

"Stop You little fucker!" Dally chuckled.

"Y/n, you can't leave! Heck, we like you." Johnny smiled.

"If we put ya down you promise not to get your things?" Pony asked softly. How could I say no to him?

"I promise." I crossed my fingers.

The second Dally put me down I made for a run to the stairs but before I reached it Darry picked me up and swung me over his shoulder.

"You promised!" Pony whined.

"I had my fingers crossed! I'm not letting you guys get hurt because of me!" I snapped and I hit Darrys back.

"We are actually doing this on free will." Dally chuckled.

"Still- Damn it Darry-" I snapped as I thrashed in his grip.

Pony came up and grabbed my face and looked me deep in the eyes.

"We want to do this. Please don't think otherwise." He asked as his eyes poured into mine. I sighed and stopped struggling.

"Ok, but if one of you get hurt it's not on me!" I said.

"Of course, princess." Dally chuckled. I rolled my eyes and Darry set me down as Pony let my face go.

"You're stuck with us!" Twobit laughed as he ruffled my hair.

I swatted his hand away with a chuckle and turned to face Ponyboy.

"What Twobit said." Pony smiled softly and I smiled back at him.
