I heard a knock on my door and I shut my book placing it on the side table.

Who was here at 10 p.m.?

"Come in." I yelled.

The door creaked open and Dally popped his head in.

"You talk to Curly lately?" He asked as he shut the door behind him.

"No. Why?" I said, trying not to make it obvious he was there the night before.

"Pony busted up his car." He said, sitting on my bed.

"What?" I exclaimed, sitting up.

"Pony went to his house and busted up his car, kid even tried to hit Curly with a bat. A fucking bat." Dally laughed.

"Did he say why?" I asked.

"No, but when I talked to Curly he said he deserved it so I don't got a clue what's going on with them. Maybe you should try and talk to Pony, Curly at least." Dally shrugged.

"I thought you didn't like Curly?" I said.

"Yeah, well I don't but you seem to be the only one that can handle them." Dally said as he lit a cigarette.

I went to reply but there was a knock on my door.

It creaked open once again and revealed Curly.

"Can we talk?" He asked quietly.

I shot Dally a look and he sighed, shoulder checking Curly on his way out.

Curly shut the door and sat where Dally was sat.

"I guess you heard about Pony." Curly rubbed the back of his neck.

"It was because of me... wasn't it?" I asked as I looked down.

"Yeah. You could put it that way." He replied.

"Curly I didn't think he would-"

"Me nethier, Y/n. There's no need to talk about it now." He said.

"Then why are you here?" I asked, scrunchin my nose.

"I needed to do this." He said before kissing me softly, tangling his hands in my hair.

He pulled away with a sad smile.

"I had to get one last kiss." He chuckled.

"Last kiss?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Ponyboy loved you first and if you have the power of causing him to go crazy then he loves you more than I do. I've never seen him lose it like that. He needs you." Curly said calmly as he itched his scruff on his chin.

I remained quiet for a second.

Curly then kissed my head and shot me a smile before walking out.

The second he left Dally came in. I knew he had been waiting in the hall.

"What Did he say?" He asked.

"He said Ponyboy needs me." I said quietly.

"Huh, guess Curly does have a bit of sense." Dally laughed coldly as he kicked his feet up.

I looked down. It felt like my brain was on a rollercoaster ride being controlled by my heart.

"You need to go to him." Dally said sternly.

"I know but-"

"No! I'm tired of you working around everything because you're scared to be loved, Damn it! When will you get it through your brain that he loves you?" Dally yelled, starling me. I didn't expect Dally to get mad, at least not over this.

"You don't think I know this? I think about him constantly! He's always on my Damn mind but it's hard to trust men when the one man you were supposed to count on forever beats the shit out of you, Dallas!" I yelled, standing up.

"That's not his damn fault! That kid saved your fucking life! You're dad would've beaten the shit out of you if Pony hadn't stepped in!" He yelled.

"I didn't ask him to! I fucking ask him to make me fall in love with him, God Dally!" I snapped.

"He did it because he loves you! How can you not see that?" Dally snapped.

"Why does this matter so much to you? Why can't you guys just leave me alone?" I said, shaking my head.

"Because I can't, Okay?! I just can't! You're the only thing that has made that kid smile since his parents died and I'm not letting you leave him. He's had enough of that shit." Dally growled.

"As if you care about how he feels." I laughed coldly.

"I do." Dally snapped.

"Sure as hell don't act like it." I shook my head with a angry grin.

"Yeah well I could say the same for you, so you have 2 choices. You go to him, be happy and trust him or you go home, take whatever they'll give to you and live with the fact you let the best thing to happen to you go." Dally said calmer than he had been.

"It's not that easy, Dally." I sat on the bed, looking at my lap.

"How not?!" He yelled.

"It's just not! I'm scared to death, Dally! I don't want to- to- ... to give someone my heart and have to trust them not to break." I stuttered.

"Oh my god, women make everything so fucking difficult. What do I have to do to prove he loves you?" Dally asked, now sounding raspy and desperate.

"Nothing. Just... just leave me the fuck alone." I snapped, my voice shaking at I looked up at him.

"I'm not leaving if that's what you're suggesting." He chuckled coldly.

"I'm not suggesting. I'm telling you." I snapped.

He smirked and shook his head in disbelief.

"Get the fuck out!" I yelled, jumping up and trying to push him to the door but he was much bigger.

I kept on trying to push and suddenly tears came out.

"Leave! Get out!" I screamed.

"Hey! Y/n! Hey!" Dally yelled as he grabbed my wrists, tears rolling down my cheeks.

"Don't cry." He shook his head.

"Come... come on. I don't know how to handle tears, man." He said.

I bit my lip to keep from sobbing.

"Man. Stop crying." He shocked his head as he dropped my wrists, looking around the room as if there would be something there to help him.

"Ok. Ok. I'll go just... just stop crying, would ya?" He asked.

I swallowed and nodded.

He sighed and did something unexpected.

He grabbed my head and kissed the top of it.

"It's gonna be alright, kid." He said before walking out.

The second the door shut I collapsed onto my floor, curling up into a ball. Not moving.

My mind was racing at 1000 miles and I just wanted to make a pit stop.
