"Just WHAT do you think you're doing?!"

"How dare you!"

"This is cheating and you know it!"

The three heads of the Hewdraw cried out in dismay as the whole beast fell from the sky. Pit fluttered there, Phosphora by his side, and Arlon's moon hovering a great distance away in the sky. As the dragon fell, it faded from view. Pit smiled gratefully at the place in the sky it once hovered. He didn't like having to use the Sanctum as a weapon, but the size and might of Hewdraw deemed it necessary, lest the fight against it be dragged on for longer than needed.

Pit soared down after the dragon, firing a few shots at it with his Tiger Claws to make sure it stayed down. The two heads on the ends began to disintegrate, much to the dismay of the middle one. "M-my brothers! Again, I say, how DARE you!" He spat, continuing to plummet.

He collided with the ground, dust billowing up from the impact. He let out a cough, wings twitching as he attempted to get up, but Phosphora zoomed down to deliver a great jolt. Hewdraw screeched as he crackled with electricity, and promptly passed out on the ground where he lay.

Pit wiped his brow, sighing with relief. "Phew, thanks Phos. I really appreciate the help." He beamed at her.

She smirked, punching his shoulder. "Hey, it's no trouble. I wasn't doing anything today." She looked up into the sky, shading her face with her hand and squinting. "It's Arlon you need to thank. He's always busy."

"Heh, I'll be sure to let him know later." He eyed the dragon, who was beginning to disintegrate. "Hmm...Mistress Viridi? Do you think we're done for today?"

"Well, I think that's a job well done, but I'm not sure if Palutena would be satisfied with just killing the boss. I think some Underworld troops managed to get to the town by now."

Pit turned to the horizon, and it was true. Monsters were flocking to the place in the wake of their leader's defeat. Pit groaned, his still-glowing wings flapping as he gained altitude. "Ugh, better make my way over there then."

"Nnnnah, that's too slow. Let's do this my way!" Phosphora interjected, grinning like a madwoman as she wrapped her arms under Pit's. She crackled with electricity, making Pit's hair stand on end.

Before Pit could get a word in edgewise, she zoomed towards the town at lightning speed. Pit shrieked in surprise, cheeks flapping in the wind.

They arrived above the town in record time, just in time for Phosphora to dizzily let go of Pit. The angel swiftly grabbed her arm, not willing to let her fall. "Whoa, you ok there, Sis?"

She shook her head, bringing her free hand to her forehead. "Mmmmmmmyou know what? I think....I shouldn't....try to carry a body over such a long distance.....at such a high speed. Just....just a guess..." She groaned, sounding exhausted and dizzy.

Pit's eyes softened in sympathy. "Dang, I was hoping you'd be able to help me get rid of these baddies, but you sound like you need to go back to the Temple."

"Yeah...that'd be good. Please." She grumbled.

Viridi whisked her away with a swirl of leaves. "She did her best, and now you still have a minute or so left of the Power of Flight! Go for it, get those losers!" She cheered.

Shot after shot was fired, destroying enemy after enemy. Their numbers steadily thinned, until finally the opposition was obliterated. He landed in the center of the town, sighing in relief. He scanned the skies, doing one last check to make sure there weren't any more coming. He nodded in satisfaction upon seeing none.

But just as he was about to warp away, he caught movement in the corner of his eye.

He swiftly turned around to face it, pointing his Claws aggressively, only to see a human duck back into cover, terrified.

"O-oh." He gasped, pointing his claws back at the ground. "H-hey, it's fine, I'm not out to get you. Don't worry." He called out, voice friendly.

The human peeked their head out, and saw Pit's smile. They gave a shaky laugh. "A-are you the one who saved us?"

Pit nodded. "Yeah, my sister and I slayed Hewdraw. He won't bother you any more."

The human looked skyward. "I knew it, I knew my prayers to the Goddess wouldn't go unanswered! Thank you, thank you!"

Pit grinned, but then stopped. "Uh, which Goddess would that be, if I might ask?"

They gave Pit a strange look. "Th-the Goddess of Light, of course. Wasn't....wasn't she the one who sent you?"

The angel snorted, looking away. "W-well, yeah, but I don't serve her. I serve the Goddess of Nature. I act on her behalf, not Palutena's."

The human paused, giving him a concerned look. "B-but, that doesn't make sense. I've never heard stories about angels serving the Nature Goddess...."

Pit frowned, his pink feathers rustling. "Well, I'm not sure you've noticed, but I'm not exactly an 'ordinary' angel."

"Oh Pit..." Viridi whispered, somber.

The human blinked. "I've never met an angel before. What do you mean?"

Pit's eyes widened. "Well, uh..."

"...Pit? I think we should get going." Viridi spoke up.

"O-oh, right, of course." He turned to the human, looking them in the face awkwardly. "I-I, uh, I need to get back to Mistress Viridi's Temple now, so uh..."

"Oh! Oh, of course! Th-thank you again, for saving my town!" They wrung their hands together, nervously.

Light and leaves surrounded the angel. The human bore a look of panic on their face. "W-wait, I have a message for Palutena!"

Pit leered. "I am the farthest thing from her messenger boy." He retorted.

The human shook their head, pleading with him. "I-if you happen to see her, please tell her that Avery is eternally grateful! Please!"

Pit vanished, leaving a handful of autumn leaves in his wake.

Viridi let out a sigh as Pit materialized back in the Temple. "Wow. Well that was certainly something."

Pit sighed. "Mistress Viridi, I have come to a conclusion."

"Hm? Well go ahead and  say it then."

"Talking to followers of Palutena....is really, really awkward."

"Ha! Tell me something I don't know!"

Author's note :D

Well well well, here I am, back again! Sorry it took so long, again. It took me forever to figure out what I wanted to do with this chapter, and in the meantime I've been writing Breath of the Wild drabbles! I'm probably gonna post them here, cuz there's like 30 of them and I want to have them in a convenient set somewhere. So if you like Breath of the Wild, look forward to that!

Buuuut anyway, I doubt the next one will take as long! I know exactly what to do with it! We're also really close to the chapter that highlights some key differences in this AU! So heck yeah look forward to that!

Until next time, folks!
