Pit stretched out his wings as he approached the Gate to the outside. Palutena had a new mission for them today, and they still had no choice but to oblige. Pit knew in his heart that he was doing it for Viridi's sake, and as such wasn't going to complain, but he knew that his Mistress wasn't too happy about having to bend to the wishes of the other Goddess. Pit wanted to support her as best as he could, but he was worried about her.

"Ready, Pit?" Viridi's voice chimed in, drawing Pit out of his thoughts.

He smiled, nodding. "Of course, Mistress Viridi. I am ready to depart at any time."

His wings glowed with the Nature Goddess's power, and he soared through the gate. His Crusader Blade was grasped firmly in one hand, a smirk on his lips. He didn't want to admit it, but he was almost grateful to Palutena for the opportunity to do battle with real opponents, and real stakes.

When he left the gate, he was surrounded by thunder clouds. "Whoa, nasty weather!"

"Yeah, but that's part of the challenge, isn't it?" Viridi chimed in, confidence and amusement in her voice.

Pit nodded, determined to make her proud. "So what's today's mission?" He inquired as he shot away a few enemies.

"Defeating Dark Lord Gaol. Don't ask me where they came up with that name; edgy, huh?"

The angel snickered. "Yeah, it really is. Why do we have to take 'em down?"

"Because apparently Medusa's forces are coming from their castle. Palutena told me that a human army is trying to fight him, but I think we both know how that's gonna end." The goddess retorted.

Pit nodded in agreement. "Yeah, painfully." He replied, soaring through the clouds and besting more monsters.

Everything seemed easy enough until a bolt of lightning struck right before his eyes. "Augh!" He yelped. "Mistress Viridi, is Phosphora here?!"

"No, it seems this lightning is courtesy of the Underworld Army." She responded.

"U-uh, is there anything you can do about it? I'd rather not be barbecued."

"I can't stop it, but I'd be happy to get you out of there."

"Thanks!"

His wings pulsed with light, and he dove downward through a gap in the storm.

Enemies dove down to try and surprise him from above, but he quickly did a flip to face them, eliminating the threat they posed.

He soon found himself in an open area of ground, surrounded by mountains.

"Are you trying to tell me a human army managed to get through this place? On foot?" Pit questions incredulously.

"Apparently they somehow managed that." Viridi retorted. "They may not be good for much, but they're pretty determined."

Pit soared above a cliff face, shooting more enemies as he did so. "Seriously, this terrain is brutal. I sure am lucky to have you to help me fly." He remarked, twirling through an arch-like rock formation.

Viridi chuckled to herself. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Commander~" She teased. She guided him over another small ridge in the mountain range, and he flew into the caverns below.

"Woah!" Pit gasped upon seeing the crystals in the rock formations. "Beautiful! Mistress Viridi, did you know this was here?"

The goddess beamed with pride. "Eh, I thought we could take the scenic route. If we're doing Palutena's dirty work, might as well enjoy ourselves while we do it, right?"
