Pit and Cragalanche walked towards the cafeteria, though their reasons for going there were different. Cragalanche didn't need to eat, being a rock; Pit, on the other hand, was starving. Most of the time, Cragalanche went where everyone else was. He always seemed to be part of the 'family' as a result, despite his silence.
As they were about to enter the cafeteria, Achilles flew off Pit's shoulder. The bird flew upwards, then landed on a ledge in the corner of the room. He had been a resident of Viridi's temple for as long as Pit had, so he had his own place to eat his birdseed without interuption. Pit smiled at his pet, then walked to the place he usually sat.
Then he saw her. His Goddess was sitting at a table already, eating breakfast. She took notice of him and smiled. "Good morning, Pit." She greeted. Pit ran over to her and bowed. "Good morning, Mistress Viridi." He responded. Viridi rolled her eyes. "I keep telling you, Pit. You don't have to bow every time you see me. It's going to get ridiculous." Standing up, Pit smiled. "I know I don't have to. I just felt like it today. I woke up too late to catch you at the garden soooo..." Pit trailed off, and Viridi understood. "Alright, I'll accept that logic." Viridi stood up from the table with an empty bowl in her hand. "Well, I've got stuff to do today, and I might need everyone at full strength later. So go eat breakfast, Pit." Pit saluted her. "Yes Mistress Viridi." The two of them then walked in their respective opposite directions.
As Pit ate his breakfast of cereal and strawberries, Arlon and Phosphora were finnishing their own meals. Arlon dissmissed himself, and because everyone was aware that he had duties at his Lunar Sanctum no one questioned where he was going. Phosphora, on the other hand, didn't have a home base to go to. "Hey Pit." She said to the still-eating angel. The pink ball of feathers turned to look at her. "When you're done, meet me at the arena, alright?" Pit nodded. It looked like today would proceed like it always did. Pit was okay with that.
Soon enough, he finnished his breakfast. He didn't bother getting Achilles. The bird knew by now where Pit would be around this time. Cragalanche was nowhere to be seen, so Pit didn't try to get him either. For some reason, Pit was excited for the day. It wasn't any different from the monotony with which he was familiar, yet he couldn't wait to meet it. Pit decided not to question his excitement. Since when was happiness a bad thing?
He ran to the arena as fast as his legs could carry him. Not a trace of sleepiness remained in his veins. As he entered through the doors to the arena, he felt the air tingle. Anticipating what was coming, Pit rolled to the side, narrowly dodging a bolt of lightning from Phosphora. Pit laughed. "Hey, no fair! I wasn't ready!" Phosphora, who was on the other side of the room, and with an outstrechted hand crackling with electricity, replied, "Actually, I'm pretty sure you were ready. You kinda dodged it, you know. If anything, I was the one who wasn't ready." Pit rolled his eyes in amusment. "Yeah, whatever Phos. At least let me pick a weapon to try out first. It's no fun if I can't defend myself, right?"
"Yeah, it's kinda boring if my target can't shoot back at me."
"Why try to zap the unsuspecting angel, then?"
"Eh, I thought I could surprise you this time. But, like always, your reflexes are supurb."
"More like I know how to smell the incoming barbeque."
"Ha ha, very funny, Chicken Wings."
Pit chose his weapon. Most often, when he and Phosphora fought in mock battles against each other, Pit would chose a different weapon each time. That way, he could test which weapons fit him and his style. This time, he went with a Crusader Blade.
Phosphora grinned. "Well, looks like you've found the 'Sword of Squareness'! How frightening!" She said in a slightly mocking tone. She began to float in the air with her electromagnetism. Pit smirked in response. He had a good feeling about this weapon. "This is a good weapon." He whispered quietly to himself, as if saying that would make the Blade stronger. As if they sensed they could learn something, a pair of Bladers appeared, ready to observe the clash of Commanders.
