Chapter 10

We walked into another room, where the doctor could get our blood test. I was standing next to daryl leaning against the wall, watching andrea and the doctor

''What's the point? If we were infected, we'd all be running a fever'' 

''I've already broken every rule on the book letting you in here, let me just do this''

''All done'' as andrea was about to stand she looked light headed, jacqui grabed onto her shoulders making sure she's all right

''You okey?''

''She hasn't eaten in days...none of us have'' the doctor looked at us, his eyes stoping at me for a minute

We all sat around the table, eating. Dale was handing out wine, talking about how children have a little bit of wine these days. Carl took the glass dale handed him and took a sip

''Ewww'' i smiled at him

Watching rick take care of his son, for these past few days...it's different from seeing shane try to be a dad for carl. I looked away, seeing the doctor sitting away from us. That's when rick stood up

''It seemes to me that we haven't thanked our host yet''

''He is more then our host'' t-dog raised his glass, with everyone following

''So when are you going to tell us what happened here doc?'' glaring at shane, i looked over at the doctor

''All the other staff and doctors...where are they?''

''Were celebrating shane, no need to do this now'' rick sat down, looking at shane 

''Oh... wait a second, that's why where here right? This was your move, we were soppose to find all the answers...insted we find him'' he pointed at the doctor

''We find one man...why?'' the doctor was looking at shane, his eyes moving away from him, looking at everyone else

''Well when things got bad, a lot of people just left...went off to be with there families. And when things got worse, the military got over run''

''Every last one?'' i glared at shane

''No, many couldn't face walking out the door....they opted (sp) out...there was a rash of  suicides....that was a bad time'' everyone was silent

''You didn't leave, why?'' 

''I couldn't...i kept hoping, to do some good'' 

''Dude  your such a buzz kill'' with that, glenn sat down

We followed the doctor, walking through some corridors. There was a bit of light, but you could see where you were going

''Most of the things are powered down, including housing, so you have to walk through here...couches are comfortable, but there are couches in storage if you'd like....there's a reck (sp) room down the hall that you kids might join, just don't blug in the video games, okey?''

''Same for you...if you shower go easy on the hot water'' with that he turned around and walked away, everyone got into there rooms

''You want to go first?'' i turned around, seeing daryl bringing our bags into our room

''Sure, i won't be long'' smiling at him, i walked into the bathroom

It felt good, feeling warm water against my skin, after this long. I quickly washed myself and hair, once i got out of the shower i dried myself and changed into this

Walking out of the room, i walked around, ending up in the big room with desks. Seeing the doctor sitting there, i walked over to him

''Hi'' he turned around seeing me standing there

''Hi, everything alright?''

''Yeah'' i nodded

''But i've got one question though'' he nodded, telling me to continue

''Why did you really stay here? i know you said that you hoped to do good, but we both know that's load of bullshit'' he smiled

''I made a promise to someone, someone who was very important to me...promise to try and fix this'' looking down at my hands

''And you remind me of her'' i looked up

''Really? was she snappy and weird to?'' he laughed

''Not really, you just look like her...'' he was about to continue when there was a sound of someone knocking. Looking up rick was walking towards us, holding a wine bottle

''How's the blood?'' 

''No suprises'' rick stoped for a moment then walked past me, leaning against one of the desks

''Came to thank you''

''You did'' rick suddenly fell down, i quickly moved next to him. Making sure he was alright

''Y-you alright?'' 

''You don't know what it's like'' rick pointed his finger at the doctor

''You don't know what it's like out there, you may think you do, but you don't...we'd died out there, it was only a matter of time, there's to many of those things''

''M-my...my wife...i never told her how i felt'' rolling my eyes i stood up, walking out of there
