Chapter 16

I was standing next to daryl, when shane walked over to us

''Yall head back, me and rick are going to stay back for a while'' 

''You sure, that's a great idea?''

''It's better like that'' i rolled my eyes and steped forward

''I'm staying'' rick looked at me, then turned his head, looking at shane 

''I want to stay to!'' i turned around, he was standing behind me

Lori agreed to let him stay with us, i watched as rick walked over to her and kissed her. I turned away, not being able to watch them. Everyone was about to walk away, i quickly ran over to daryl and hugged him

''Stay safe''

''You to'' he whispered back

Me, shane and carl were sitting on the church stairs, waiting for rick

''Taylor'' i looked at carl, he was playing with his fingers

''Do you think we'll find sophia?''  i placed my arm around his shoulder, side hugging him

''Of course we will...she's a big girl and knows what to do'' i kissed his head, just then rick walked out

We were walking in the woods, rick was infront off me and carl was behind me with shane. Suddenly there was a move in some bushes, we stoped to listen where it was coming from

I walked slowly after rick, he stoped, watching what it was. My eyes widdened when i noticed that it was a deer, feeling someone touch my hand, i looked back and saw it was carl

He smiled at me and slowly begun walking towards it, the deer was a few feet away from him. It looked around and stoped looking at carl, i smiled watching them. I heard someone come stand next to me, i didn't have to look, knowing that it was rick

I felt him looking at me, turning my head. He had this shine in his eyes, he smiled at me. For the first time in a while... i felt happiness. It all happened so quickly, we heard a gun shot and carl fell onto the ground with the deer

''No!'' i quickly ran over to him, kneeling next to him

''Carl! carl!'' i shouted, shaking him

Rick hurried next to me, trying to wake him, shane was standing infront off us, holding out his gun, ready to shoot. That's when a chubby guy walked out behind the trees, seeing carl laying on the ground
