9: Alternate Versions?

A/N: The above video is the transformations FROM THE FIRST THIRTEEN EPISODES OF SEASON TWO WHICH I BINGE-WATCHED IN TWO DAYS BECAUSE IT WAS SO AWESOME SO WATCH IT PLEASE IT'S AMAZING!!!!

The feather was aimed at Adrienne. She ducked, and the feather hit the wall behind her. Marin picked it up, but dropped it immediately when a line of red appeared on his hand.

"Razor-sharp," he muttered.

"What--who is she?"

"I am Le Paon," the woman hissed softly. "All of Paris will bow beneath my rule. All who stand in my way will fall."

She pulled a feather from her fan and raised it. Adrienne knew she should transform, but something about Le Paon's voice stopped her. For a moment it sounded familiar.

For a moment, it sounded like...her father.

"Wait!" Adrienne shouted, turning towards Le Paon with one hand extended palm-out. "Who are you?"

Le Paon paused. She lowered the feather.

"You sound familiar. My name is Adrienne Agreste. Does that ring a bell? This is my friend Marin Dupain-Cheng. Please don't hurt us, Madame Paon."

"I...Adrienne, you said?" Le Paon cocked her head. "I think I might know why you find me familiar. Who do you think I am?"

"Well...obviously this can't be true, because...well...you sound like my father. Emilio Agreste."

"You...I have a son named Adrien," Le Paon muttered, half to herself. "This...it must be another alternate universe, with reverse genders. So the alternate version of me would be named Emilio." She looked up at Adrienne. "I am Emilie Agreste."

"So...you're a version of my father from another universe."

"That is correct."

"But...why are you here? Why are you hurting people?"

Marin looked between the two.

"I'm lost," Le Paon/Emilie said. "So...is everyone's gender opposite?"

"Depends."

"Gabriel Agreste?"

"Gabriella Agreste here," Marin said.

"I don't know you," she murmured. "Chloe Bourgeois? Nathalie Sancoeur? Oh, who else--those bakers? Best in town? Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng, I think?"

"We have a Corey Bourgeois. Nathalie is the same," Adrienne said. "Tom and Sabine too. Marin is their son."

"Ah." She looked like she would say more, but five colorful blurs sped past her.

"What the--" Adrienne peeked into her shirt, where Plagg was sticking his head out. She looked back up at the five kwamis floating in front of her. Plagg was among them.

She looked between the two. Plagg in her shirt, Plagg floating in front of her.

"Plagg? Tikki? Wayzz? Trixx? Pollen?"

"That's not possible," Emilie said. "A kwami would never leave their master...unless they were in grave danger. Did Master Fu send you through the mirror?" she asked the kwamis.

Plagg (floating in front of Adrienne and Marin) turned and gasped.

"Madame Agreste!" he exclaimed. "So that's what--you're  who he wants us to bring back!"

"I--what?" Adrienne said, caught off-guard. "You're from the same universe as her?"

"Our Paris is in grave danger," duplicate Tikki said. "We need you two--and the rest of your team--to come with us to help save our universe."

"We can't just abandon Paris!" Marin said fiercely. "I'm Ladybeetle, Adrienne's Chat Noire. We can't let Paris go unprotected!"

"But our holders are powerless," duplicate Wayzz said. "However, time moves much slower there than it does here. In our world, half an hour has passed. We've been here near on a month, according to this world's time."

Adrienne considered this.

"Give us...two weeks," she said. "In this world's time. We'll tell you then."

Duplicate Trixx nodded. "Eiffel Tower, seven-thirty p.m. on the fourteenth day."

The kwamis disappeared.

"Crazy," Adrienne muttered. Then she saw Emilie, whose eyes had gone wide.

"If this is an alternate universe...is my son Chat Noir?" she asked.

"It would make sense," Marin said.

She sighed. "Very well. I will meet you at the Eiffel Tower with the kwamis." Emilie walked off.

Marin and Adrienne shared a glance.

"We've got to tell the team," Marin finally said. "Spots on!"

"Claws out!" Adrienne shouted.

When they had become Ladybeetle and Chat Noire, they split up. Marin went to get Alyo. Adrienne left for Nina's. They agreed to meet up at Corey's to talk.

Nina was still eating. When Adrienne arrived, she quickly ate the rest of her food, transformed into Carapace, and ran along the rooftops with Adrienne to Corey's mother's hotel. They landed on the roof at the same time as Marin and Alyo/Volpine. Adrienne guessed that Corey heard them land, because he emerged from the building not a full minute later. He was already transformed into King Bee.

"What's this about?" he asked Marin, but it was Adrienne who answered.

"We just met a miraculous holder from another universe."

Will they help the other universe? Or will they remain in their Paris?

Little do they know, in their own universe, something dangerous is nearing. A new foe will be coming out to battle.
