Nina finished convincing the last civilians to get off the streets. Turning back to Nino, she nodded once. Both raised their bracelets and shouted, "Transform me!"
Nino threw his shell high in the air and caught it easily.
"The signal for the explosions," he said. "Don't freak out. They're just illusions."
Faintly Nina could hear a pair of flutes playing in harmony, then a unison shout of "Mirage!"
Several explosions started occurring around Paris. One large one took over the Eiffel Tower.
"That oughta get Hawk Moth out," Nina said. "Come on, we've got somewhere to be."
Both Carapaces began running in the general direction of Agreste Mansion. Then Nina spotted something dark up in the sky and leaped to the side, concealing herself.
"An akuma," she hissed to Nino, who nodded and melted into the shadows behind him.
But they weren't the only ones to see it; a moment later, a yo-yo swung up and caught it. They saw it once more, flying as a pure white butterfly.
"Let's go," Nina said.
They continued their path to the mansion. The plan was for this world's heroes to get inside and defeat Hawk Moth if at all possible. If he managed to get out of the mansion, four of the other universe's heroes would be outside surrounding the mansion, ready to capture him. Noire of course would be inside protecting Adrien.
Nina didn't like that her best friend was in there alone, without the rest of the team, but the black suit combined with the night vision made her a valuable stealth asset. More so than a hero in a green hoodie.
The pair finally reached the mansion. Nino chucked his shield at the gate, breaking it open.
"Good luck," Nina said as he dashed inside.
*****Adrienne*****
Adrienne watched from the shadows as Hawk Moth battled all five heroes at the same time--easily. He managed to get Queen Bee tangled up in her own trompo and threw her at Carapace, who was slammed into the wall. Both fell to the ground, unconscious.
"My Lady, your Lucky Charm!" Chat shouted.
Ladybug ducked to the side, but Hawk Moth spotted it. He snatched Volpina's flute and used it to trip her, then whacked the fox hero and sent her careening across the room, throwing the flute away from her.
"We need backup!" Ladybug shouted. "Noire!"
Adrienne leaped up and pulled out her staff.
"Go! Get the others!" she shouted to Ladybug before dashing forward into the light.
Hawk Moth froze. Ladybug managed to duck out of the room.
"Two Chat Noirs?" he said, sounding more surprised than when the explosions had initially occurred.
Both cat heroes circled him, staffs out like swords.
"Come on, Hawk Moth," Chat said. "Give us your miraculous, before we take it from you."
"Never," Hawk Moth hissed. "I will get that ring, and those earrings."
"I highly doubt it," came a voice from the entrance.
Adrienne glanced sideways. There were her friends--Ladybeetle, King Bee, Volpine, and the other Carapace. Volpine, who had spoken, readied his flute like a sword as well. Nina's shield was already out. Ladybeetle and King Bee had their yo-yo and trompo ready, respectively.
