Jasmine stood on the top of the mountain that would be the starting point of her little rebellion, as they called it; well little now was an understatement. Her forces had tripled in size and they were ready to make their move now. “Is everyone in position,” she asked Edward standing behind her.
“Yes, everyone’s ready and waiting for your command,” he responded looking into the horizon.
“No one expects anything?”
“No one, not a soul sees this coming”.
“Good,” she said turning around smiling at him. She walked up to him and kissed him lightly; Edward pulled her closer and kissed her back deeply. She pulled back and looked him in the eyes; she put a hand on his cheek and felt his jaw muscles tighten.
He stepped back and cleared his throat, “Apollos is at the ready, waiting for you in the forest,” he said in his serious voice. If Jasmine wasn’t mistaken she could see his cheeks go a shade redder, and she laughed quietly to herself.
“Good,” she felt like she was repeating herself, “go and get him for me if it’s not too much trouble.” She turned back to the mountain’s edge that over looked this somewhat beautiful realm.
This will soon be yours, the small voice in her head kept saying.
And it was right, indeed all of this will be hers, soon. In a matter of minuets those poor souls down there wouldn’t know what hit them. In minuets, those poor souls would loose their way of life. She smiled wickedly at the thought of it all. Though it would not be those poor souls she would be after, no definitely not, they would come with what she wanted. And what she wanted was the power that the ruler of this realm knew where and how to find it.
She heard the swoosh of moving wind and knew that Edward and Apollos were near. She turned around and saw them making a landing. Apollos, her green colored phoenix, was a creature that always fascinated her. She had him since he hatched and they shared a special bond that was unbreakable. His feathers were all different shades of green forming the crest of the realm of Earth on its back. This was her transportation, she was a rider.
Apollos landed gently in front of her and dipped his head down for her to mount, “Good boy,” Jasmine said patting his feathered head. The bird let out a low coo of satisfaction.
She mounted her bird with Edward behind her, holding on to the backside of the bird’s saddle; pulled on the reigns and Apollos made a running start, then her bird jumped hard into the air and flapped his wings twice. Now they were airborne, the feeling of being this high and going this fast would always amaze Jasmine. The clouds rushed by under them along with the mountain range they just left.
Now under them was a grand castle, their starting point. The realm of Water’s castle, this would be where it all changed.
