Annabeth woke up alone in bed, “Cody,” she called out, no answer. She swung her legs off the bed and hit the cold tile floor. She threw on her satin robe and ran for Skylar’s room.

She pulled the double doors open and there he was Cody stood over their son’s bed. “Cody,” she said his name softly and stepped up right behind him putting a hand on his shoulders.

He turned around and she saw the tear stains that ran down his face, with that she knew exactly what was happening. He pulled her into him and kissed the top of her head, “I’m so sorry,” he said sobbing softly into her hair, “I’m so sorry”. He pulled back and faced Skylar again, “Come son we’re going to go for a little ride,” he said nudging him gently.

“Daddy,” Skylar said slowly opening his eyes.

“C’mon buddy, let’s go for a ride,” Cody repeated.

Skylar sat up, “Where we going daddy”?

“We’re gonna go some place safe,” Cody smiled at his son softly. He could hear the swoosh of wings, and by the volume of it, this creature was huge.

And close.

In a matter of minuets they arrived at the Council Room. Each ruler and heir were waiting, “She’s already begun her plan,” Cody said, “As we speak she’s hovering over my castle waiting to attack”.

“Jennifer’s waiting for all of us in the field,” Dustan said.

“Good,” Cody replied. He looked around the room and saw the next six heirs starring up at their parents with those curious eyes. Skylar Pool, Lori Blaze, Christian Westgate, Rena Striker, Zephyr Star and Isabella Archer; these six were the future. And right now their future was in danger.

                                                           ~~~
Annabeth collected her thoughts in the armory while she threw on her armor and tied her sword to her belt. She heard a huge crash at the front door and metal clinging. So, it’s officially started, she thought to herself.
The woman Jasmine Kum had proclaimed that one day she would take the power that was to be rightfully hers. She wanted the heirs, for they would be the only ones who knew the location of the Realm’s Books. With the knowledge in each book she would be able to conquer each of the Realms.
Cody had taken Skylar and would be sending him to Earth with the other five heirs. He left her in charge of the army to protect their land and people.
She sent out a distress call immediately after Cody and Skylar left. The soldiers and sorcerers were now spread through out the realm and a few were kept here to help Annabeth protect the castle.
She readied herself for battle as General McCoy approached her, “My Queen,” he bowed deeply.
“There is no need to bow Sentry. Today I am a solider just as you are,” she said.
He nodded. “She’s here,” he said it so simply that it made Annabeth’s gut twist with nervousness.
She took a deep breath, “Is everyone in their positions”?
“Yes ma’am”.
“Good, tell them all to wait for my signal”.
 “Yes ma’am,” he said and sprinted down the hall and disappeared.
Annabeth walked down the long hall to the front gate where Jasmine Kum had been waiting.
Jasmine let out a soft little chuckle, “You know,” she started, “you and your husband started this”. She paced back and forth, as if this were just a casual meeting, she kept her hand on the emerald hilt of her sword. “You two could’ve just surrendered and none of this would have happened”.
“That was never an option for us,” Annabeth shot back; she stood her ground and felt the cool metal of her sheath touch her bear skin.
“Too bad,” Jasmine said stopping in front of her standing side ways so she stared at her sideways. “Your son would’ve been a handsome young man,” a sly smile danced across her face.
“AHHHH,” Annabeth withdrew her sword and lunged. “YOU PIG,” she shouted.
Jasmine side stepped and remained untouched, “Ha, you’re going to have to do better than that”.
Annabeth regained balance and swung her sword side ways.
Jasmine ducked.
She’s too fast; she thought to herself anything she did would be useless. She raised her arm and shoved her fist into the air, “NOW!” she shouted at the top of her lungs.
A cloud of arrows shadowed them and streams of blue magic flew at Jasmine. Annabeth ran to the cover of the castle walls and panted hard. “Think Annabeth, think!” her mind was clouded with thoughts and she couldn’t think clearly.
She felt a sharp pain in her chest. She looked down and saw an inch of a blade protruding from her chest; she turned around and saw a man that looked familiar to her. “You,” was all she could manage and the man withdrew his blade out of her body, “mons-s-sterrr”. The last thing that came to her mind was, Cody, he’s back.
