Chapter 5: Spring Day

*Flashback*

The girl stood at the edge of the lake, admiring the landscape. The boy beside her was busy taking pictures of the view. "Wah! You take awesome photos," she commented as the picture slowly developed and printed instantly out of his camera.

"I just like capturing the moment," the boy answered as he scribbled at the back of the photo 'Spring Day' he wrote neatly. "Photos remind us of beautiful memories," he explained and inhaled the fresh air.

Snow was barely visible and the sun was shining brightly above them, although the breeze was still chilly.

"Are you ready for our very first day of high school soon?" The boy asked and looked at her. "Ani, I'm kind of nervous." She admitted and he nodded, agreeing with the girl. "I still want to stay out and have fun!"

"Do you think the water is still freezing cold?" She wondered and started to take off her jacket and shoes. "YAH! You pabo, of course it is!" He replied and threw a small pebble at her direction.

"Come in the water with me! It's not so bad," She giggled, enjoying the water right below her knees.

"Don't go deeper than that, arraseo? I know it's freezing cold!" He warned and rolled his eyes. Of course she wouldn't listen. She took a step down further into the lake until the water reached her waist, soaking her shorts.

"YAH! Be careful, it might get too deep!" The boy warned again, slightly getting nervous.

The water was indeed quite cold. The ground below her feet was muddy and slippery as well. But that didn't stop her from playing around. She splashed water and continued to walk around the lake.

A cool breeze blew and made her shiver, her legs trembled causing her to slip. Her feet couldn't touch the muddy ground below her and she struggled to keep her head above water, gasping for air. "Taehyung!!" The girl frantically called the boy to rescue her as she continued to drift further into the deeper part of the lake.

The boy widened his eyes at the sight of the girl wildly splashing and swinging her limbs, struggling for air. He did not know how to swim, but he didn't think twice and didn't waste another second before launching into the water to try and save the girl.

"Y/n!" He called out as he tried to fearlessly swim to her side. The boy slightly panicked as he felt that he could no longer reach the ground as well. He inhaled as much air as he could before diving deep. He reached for her sinking body and grasped her hand. Both of them struggled to reach the surface above water to breathe.

A few moments passed, their limbs grew tired of struggling and water slowly entered their nose and mouth. Before closing her eyes, she caught a glimpse of the boy's worried face as he still held her hand tight.

They felt strong arms grab them and pull them swiftly out of water. She painfully coughed out and gasped for air as soon as she hit the ground.

"Y/n!" A familiar voice called out and cupped her face as he panted. "Is she okay?!" She heard her brother's voice from a far.

The light felt blinding as she opened her eyes. Kim Seokjin was the first person she saw and it made her heart flutter while she started to breathe heavily.

"Kim Seokjin oppa saved me..." she thought to herself as he cupped her face, intently staring into her dazed eyes. Her heart felt insanely excited and she felt her whole body warm up. She hiccuped.
