After we have talked for a while, I run back to the fence around the district as quickly as possible to get home. When I finally reach home, I notice that my father isn't at home right now. It's just my mother and my little sis, Shimmer. "Your outfit is on your bed, Alaya" My mother says. So I walk into the bedroom and there it is, the reaping outfit. A soft purple with a baby blue sash. On the sash, my mothers' pin is in there. The mocking jay pin her mother gave her when she was 16 like me. "Don't forget to have a bath first!" My mother called from the other room. On the windowsill I see the bathtub. A tub mad of plastic but big enough to hold a person in it. I take my hunting clothes off and climb into the bath tub. I wash my hair with the warm water. I finally climb out of the tub and get dry, ready to dress in my reaping clothes. If I'm lucky, the person who reads out the names will notice the mocking jay pin and realise I'm related to the mocking jay, Katniss Everdeen. But now she's married she's Katniss Mellark. I finger the pin on the sash and tie my hair into two plaits and walk out of the room. "You ready?" Shimmer asks me as I put my boots on. I shrug at her. "We better go before they read the names out." My mother says to me and my little sister. "Ok mom" Shimmer says while her blonde hair flies behind her. I got my moms brown hair and my dads skin tone but my sister got my dads blonde hair and my moms skin tone. If the odds are in my favour I'd be picked, right?
