{Luke}

I used all my strength to keep myself from collapsing on the floor from the shock of the message. My eyes were wide and my breath was hitched in my throat. I tried to call for Michael but no sound would come out. Luckily he turned around to see what I was doing and he saw my state of panic and paused his game again and hurried over.

"What happened?" He asked quickly, but instead of responding I just handed him the phone and he played the message for himself. Hearing the voice again come over the speaker was like torcher to me.

Michael's face instantly went even more pale than usual as the look on his face matched mine. "W-What are we gonna do?" He asked, finally managing to form the words.

"I don't know. I mean what can we do?" I said sitting down against the wall and putting my head on my hands. "This can't be happening, it can't be" I mumbled, shaking my head and closing my eyes.

"We can't let this keep happening!" Michael loudly stated as he ran his hand through his hair and pulled at it as he paced around the room. "Dammit, this is all my fault, I should've walked with her! Fuck!"

Michael was always the one to blame himself for little things, anything he could've done to stop it he blamed himself for not doing. "Michael it's not your fault. Whoever took her is a psycho" I told him, trying to get him to stop pacing.

"B-But who took her? Didn't we call the cops on that man who took Jay? How did this happen? Do you think Jay is still there and never got out?" He continued to ask multiple questions with his eyes still wide.

We sat for a while, not sure what to say or suggest next. The thoughts were barricading my mind. I sat up, after a good thought finally passed through. "Jarred still lives around here, right?" Jarred was an old friend of mine, he was in college now to be a bounty hunter.

"I-I think so, you still have his number right?" Michael questioned, knowing exactly what my plan was already without me even explaining it to him.

I grabbed my phone once again and found his number in my contact list. He picked up on the second ring. "Luke! How are ya?" He said with surprise in his voice.

"Uh, not so good if I'm being honest." I paused before continuing to explain to him. "I need a favor, it's kind of a big one."

"Tell me dude" he said calmly, he really was never one to freak out and worry.

"Well do you think you could come by my apartment?" I asked, thinking it would be easier to explain in person, rather than over the phone.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll be over in five" he agreed. We said our goodbyes and after that hung up. I scrolled through my phone to make the time pass before he came over.

Soon the doorbell rang and I put the phone down to let Jarred in. "Hey man!" He said with his as always killer smile on his face.

"Hey, it's been a while" I said, letting him in. I took a seat on the couch across from him.

"So what's this favor you need?" He asked, taking a piece of popcorn from the bowl Michael had.

"Okay so, this might sound a little bizarre" I said before explain the whole story to him, starting when me and Jay first walked into that place and finishing with the news we had just received.

"Woah" he breathed out.

"We know it's a lot to ask but-" I started before he interrupted me.

"I'll do it" he said quickly. "Yeah, I've been needing more real life training missions anyways. I'll call up my partner, Jake, we'll gear up and everything and go later tonight"
