The next thing I knew I was laying in my bed in my own bedroom. I was still in the same sweat pants and tank top, but I was back in my own house.
The smell of coffee and bacon surrounded me and I felt a sense of comfort that I hadn't felt in a while. I looked around my room again. Everything was still in the same place. Nice and neat, but just a touch messy. That was how I liked things.
I got out of bed feeling refreshed and looked out my window. It was a beautiful sunny day. The kids next door were out playing and their screaming, which normally pissed me off, was sort of comforting, because it ment that I was really back home.
I looked at my phone clock and saw that it was already noon. I opened my bedroom dorr and went downstairs.
"Good morning, Mom.", I said with a slight smile.
"Good morning Hailey! I'm surprised I didn't have to wake you up!"
"Yeah. I guess I just wasn't as tired this morning."
I honestly didn't see why I wasn't more tired. I mean, after what I had just been through. But the funny thing was that it all just seemed like a dream now. A dream that I remembered clear as day, but had never actually happened.
I was glad to fill my plate with a muffin, eggs, and bacon. I poured a warm cup of coffee and added my favorite hazelnut creamer in it. It was nice to finally be living my normal life.
"Well, I'm going to the grocery store now.", my mom announced. "Is there anything you need?"
"No, thanks. I'm fine right now."
My mom left, leaving me home alone again. I dearched the house for something to do. You would think that after being away from home for a while, I'd be able to think of something, but there was nothing.
I decided to go on my laptop, which, probably wasn't such a great idea since that was how I got into my last almost-perfect wish that turned out horribly. Thinking back now, I guess it could have been a good wish if I had made it good and if I hadn't freaked out about sleeping with Brandon.
My email had a few new messages.
One from my friend Leah. She wanted to know if I could go out with her to the mall today. I replied saying that I would meet her there.
Knowing she would want me to come in less than an hour, I quickly took a shower to refresh myself. The shower at home was nice and comforting. Not quite as comforting as the shower at my mansion, but good enough.
After I dried off, I put on some skinny jeans and a while crop top with a black infinity. I put my hair up in a messy bun and grabbed my purse.
As I was just finishing a note to tell my mom that I would be gone for the afternoon, Leah pulled up and beeped for me to come.
"Hey Leah!"
"Hey Hailey!"
"I missed you the past few days. Sorry I didn't return your calls, but honestly! I've ust been so busy!"
"Oh, that's fine. I've been busy too and I missed seeing you, which is why I wanted to go shopping with you."
"Well I'm always open for shopping!", I said as I climbed into the passenger seat of her car. It was a cheap used car but it was enough for us. I was reminded of the smell of chocolate that always lingered in here.
But today it was gone.
"Clean your car?", I asked.
"How'd you know?", she said with a laugh.
"Because there aren't any chocolate bars, no coffee, no lotions or perfumes!"
"Yeah. It'll all be back in time though, but you should have seen this after my brother took a trip with his friends in it! I've never seen a car so dirty!"
I laughed and her car carried us off to the mall with our hand out the window and the radio blaring.
