I had a hop in my step as I led Kayla to what I call home. Kayla laughed, "Where are we going?" I looked back to see her smiling, probably at my antics.
"To see my brother," I replied as I continued dragging her.
When I looked back again time seemed to slow down. Her mouth turned up in a smile, as if caught in mid laugh. Strawberry blonde hair that kinda looked cherry at times pulled into a braid. Green eyes that looked so similar to mine, shining with happiness. A leather jacket covering part of a blue shirt with the words, if only closed minds came with closed mouths. Combat boots on her feet, jean shorts covering only a little of her long legs. A scar on her bottom lip although I didn't know what it came from.
I faced forward, time unpausing, leaving the two of to continue walking.
When we reached our house, I turned to face her. She tilted her head in confusion as I used my sword to cut off a piece of cloth from my shirt and showed it to her. "What's that for?" she asked.
I smiled. "Just put it on, here i'll help."
Kayla had a very confused look which I thought was cute, uh, anyway, I put the blindfold on her and started walking to a door of a very 'normal' house. Of course it took us a minute to get there because I accidentally made her trip over the stairs. When we finally got there I let her in first and making sure she couldn't see.
"Welcome to my home," I said while blindfolding her.
Her face was priceless. On the outside it looked like a regular home, but on the outside it was huge. In the middle of the room, there was a big staircase that separated to two sides. On the first floor to the right, there was a family room where it was basically a huge model of a living room. To the left there was a dining room, there were ten long tables with one table that looked different with elder chairs if that's what you'd call them. On the second floor there were rooms, but it wasn't like your everyday 'normal' rooms, these were like master bedrooms for two people, which of course led to a third floor. The third floor was a library, some books on spells, other books on history, and other books that were by an author people never even heard of (mostly because they were horrible and only the dummies liked them).
"Well, what do you think?" I asked, looking at Kayla.
I was almost about to laugh my face off, her reaction was just too funny and cute, I think I started to blush. Luckily my brother walked in to interrupt that embarrassing moment.
"So you finally brought a girlfriend home. It's about time."
"Kayla, Luke. Luke, Kayla. This is my brother I was talking about," I said, sighing a bit.
Luke was a little taller than me, he had a nice tan, crystal blue eyes, chocolate brown hair, and a good attitude. The thing about Luke was that he was kinda perfect, at least to me as a brother, there was just one problem that will be put into one word. Mischief. After he said that I felt like my face went completely red. I swear to the gods I heard people laugh, but I did see Kayla giggle which made my face red even more.
"Haha very funny, but I don't see you with a girlfriend. I mean she's not my girlfriend- I mean she's a girl and my friend-"
"Ya the reason I don't have a girlfriend is because I have to deal with you, and if you keep talking more your face will get as red as a tomato," Luke said while laughing.
I fell silent and I didn't know what to say in front of Kayla. I gave Luke a look saying, dude help me out here, and he looked at me saying, fine, fine, party pooper.
"Alright so how about I show you guys around," he finally said.
Kayla started to look at me with concern which even though I just met her, I knew that wasn't normal. "What about Chase and Taylor?" she asked.
"Wait what happened to Taylor?!" Luke yelled.
Luke looked panicked. Ever since Taylor was eight Luke acted like a big brother to Taylor, so saying that she was missing must be harder for him than anyone else. We told him the story on how we were separated. Luke looked broken. He was really one of the only people Taylor had, and having that being taken away, I guess Kayla could relate which only made me feel worse on how she felt.
"You have to find her," he said that with the most concerned voice i've ever heard.
