The Zodiac War

Chapter 14

Rosalie Abbot, Spafina Abbot, Jonathan Black, and Adriana Abbot were all brought in two days later, confused and concerned. Rosalie and the other three had no clue why they had been brought in so urgently.

  "Rosalie Abbot," Christopher began, grabbing the young lady's attention immediately, "What do you know about your birth?"

  "Nothing. Mom hasn't told me anything except I was adopted from the orphanage outside our town that closed down years ago. Spafina was adopted from there, too."

  The Leader shook his head slowly. "When is your birthday?"

"March 13th. I'm a Pisces, sir. I had to have been to be allowed to stay with my mother."

"Jonathan, when were you born?" Christopher asked.

"December 27th, sir."

Iona took control, interrogating Spafina next. "When's your birthday, Spafina?"

Adriana almost had a nervous breakdown as Spafina answered. "March 17th. Mom hasn't given me any details though. I was adopted."

Iona, skeptical of everything, asked, "Adriana. What brought you to adopt two orphans? I would also like to know how you adopted them so quickly. In my private interview with them, Spafina said she is fourteen. Rosalie's seventeen. The adoption process takes four years and there's no legal papers saying you adopted them. I checked."

Adriana and Vivienne began sweating profusely. Adriana replied, "The orphanage was not an official orphanage... It was not authorized by the government. Just an old couple with a bunch of orphans."

  "That's even more suspicious, honey," Charlotte interrupted.

  "Jonathan, has Vivienne ever told you about the incident involving her child before you?" Iona smirked.

  Jonathan flinched, "No."

  "There was a girl. Vivienne gave birth to that girl in January. Vivienne ran off with the child, hoping to save it-"

  "I realized my mistake! But the girl had already died of the cold!"

  "Vivienne, you are not in a position to talk," Beverly directed at her.

  Vivienne still continued, screaming hysterically, "I realized my mistake! I was going to give her up but she froze! I buried that girl by sending her off in the river! She is dead! I would've done anything to save her but she died! I miss her and regret my decisions to this day! I miss her! I miss her, I miss her, I miss her! I miss my little Rosalie-"

  Vivienne shut her mouth but everyone else's jaw dropped to the floor. Beverly stood up, exhibiting no emotions as she decreed, "Vivienne Black. You are to be terminated. You have broken one our most highly enforced laws. Adriana Abbot, life in prison for helping her. The case of Spafina is still open, as we have not determined whether or not the girl is of the Brooks family."

  The former teens from the Grand Tour watched the news channel in horror. The story of the day was the tale of Vivienne's death sentence.

  After the Spafina Brooks case was closed, she was returned to their Family and moved to Kentucky. Iona decided to adopt Rosalie, bringing her along to Texas. Belladonna Sanders replaced Adriana as the Pisces female leader while Fiona Calhoun took Vivienne's original place. Many peaceful leaders left and were replaced quickly, but with loud and obnoxious people.

  The month was now January, and even though Vivienne was now dead and Adriana was in prison, the Board of Zodiacs was still a complete mess. No leader respected the other and Beverly couldn't control anyone. With most of the peaceful leaders gonna and the balance offset, the Board was a warzone.

  Rosalie was sitting in her new room, being comforted by Elizabeth. "My whole life was a lie." Elizabeth had no response and just kept hugging her newfound sister.

  "Breaking news! The Zodiac leaders are going to war after Christopher Harding shot and killed Charlotte Brooks and injured William Rowan!"
