Y/N was sitting with Peggy in a tent it was a late autumn's evening.

"You never told me about your family or home or past, you haven't told me anything, why not?" Y/N spoke up breaking, the silence. "Well I live- lived in a Hampstead, that's in London. As a child I used to play outside a lot, well when it was not raining, I believed I was a knight sent to save the princess and kill the dragon, you know, I never wanted to be the damsel in distress. Maybe that's part of the reason I  joined the armed forces.- Actually why did you join the army?"

Peggy seemed so happy talking about her childhood. Y/N could only wonder what happened to her, why she wasn't  this happy all the time, before she answered. "Well my whole family are or were scientists, but I'm horrible at anything science related so I became a rebel. I became my mothers nightmare" Y/N smiled at the many memories she had of her mom telling her that pilotage wasn't a woman's job. Y/N continued: "She was obsessed with me not being ladylike-"

Peggy bursted out laughing "I'm s-so sorry, *giggle* but my-my mom did the same, go on" She wiped a tear off her cheek.

"Well you asked me why I joined the army. I guess I just wanted to prove that women aren't just supposed to sit in the kitchen. We can do whatever men do, just better. I didn't want to join the german army, we disagree a bit much. But please go on with your story", explained Y/N.

"Where was I? Right. I was playing in our backyard. My brother used to tease me about being a knight and told me that girls can't be knights, but I know he didn't mean it, because some years later at my engagement party he told me tha-"

"Wait a second, you were engaged? What else are you not telling me?" interrupted Y/N, nearly screaming. "Yes, his name was Fred Wells but it didn't work out. He wanted me to stay at home and I wanted to fight. Anyways, Michael, my brother encouraged me to be an agent and after he was killed I decided that he was right and that I was meant for more." At this point Peggy's eyes were watering, but she quickly tried to blink the tears away, but failed. Y/N didn't know why, to her Peggy's life seemed perfect. Peggy spoke up:  "What about you, Y/N? You haven't told me anything about your childhood in Germany."

"Well I grew up in a little town near Munich, it's called Tegernsee. I had an older brother called Helmut, he drowned in the lake when I was 6 and he was 9. He was probably the only family member I liked other than my uncle Abraham. From little on I wanted to be a pilot, flying always fascinated me, so when I was old enough my parents sent me to Kampffliegerschule Lipetsk, which translates to Lipetsk fighter-pilot school. I was one of the only girls there, just like here. I graduated and then one year later the war broke out, so I went to live with my uncle in Augsburg, where Johann Schmidt forced my uncle to finish the super soldier serum and then stole it and became Red Skull. We immediately fled to America and joined the S.S.R., he made the serum for Project Rebirth and I became a pilot."

"I see, we aren't really ladylike, are we?" Y/N laughed at Peggy's comment and asked "Where did you go to school? Must have been some nice english boarding school, I've heard about those. Marble floors and beautiful uniforms and a big polo field."

Peggy tried to not to laugh, but Y/N's thoughts were to ridiculous. "Well I went to the St Martin-in-the-Fields High School for Girls. No marble floors, no polo field and quite boring uniforms. I was quite popular, because I broke into the headmasters home and tried to steal his wife's underwear and his most expensive bottle of brandy. I knocked over a vase and they caught me. You should have seen my parents lecturing me, my mother was fuming, but you could see that my father was a bit proud, just a bit. My fellow students saw me as a hero. Those were nice days, sometimes I want to be a child again" Peggy smiled at the memory.

"My aunt Bertha used to say:"Adults are just big babies trying to act responsible and grown up. Real adults are very hard to find, you shouldn't let go of one if you find one"" Y/N tried to mimic an old woman's voice. "She must have been a vey wise lady", added Peggy.

"It's getting late, we should go to bed or else that nurse, what was her name again?", asked Y/N. "Nancy", replied Peggy. "Yes, Nancy will be very angry. You know how people her age are. They alway talk about how important sleep  is.", mocked Y/N.

The two girls stood up and went to their respective beds. They weren't comfortable, but the girls were tired so they fell asleep as soon as their heads touched the scratchy pillows.
