Chapter 12 - Plane

Steve's POV

I get to ride a motorcycle while the others have to walk. I guess that's nice but the others aren't followed by a group of Hydra agents. There's at least six of them and I have to get rid of them. I flip a switch on my cycle and a string attached to two arrows shoots into two trees. Most of them can dodge it but two fall off. Two down, four to go! I can also burn them with the fire coming out my exhaust pipe. One's motorcycle catches fire and another one falls over him. Two more! I slow down a bit so they can catch up with me. When they are near enough I take a piece off of one's motorcycle and accelerate. He explodes and the other one gets injured or dies too.

I'm almost at the entrance but this tank starts shooting at me. I push another button and shoot the tank. I get in and they're already waiting for me. I don't stop, if I do they kill me. I jump of the cycle and knock one agent unconscious. I fight another one with my shield while my motorcycle explodes leaving a hole in the door. I fight five more people until they got me in some sort of ring of fire. They catch me and bring me to Schmidt. I try to act like it wasn't part of the plan.

He comes towards me and he's not wearing his mask. Last time I saw him like that was when I saved Buck. "Arrogance may not be a uniquely america trait but I must say you do it better than anyone. And there are limits to what even you can do or did Erskine tell you otherwise?" I hate that german accent. Why doesn't Y/N have one? Why do all german people have one except her?

I decide to do what she would to. I reply with sass. "He told me you were insane." Schmidt gasps, he does't like what I said. "He resented my genius and tried to deny me what's rightfully mine. He gave you everything. So, what made you so special?" Well, if he had told me to wait because the serum wasn't ready, I would have waited. You didn't, that's why you turned into a big tomato. "Nothing, I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." 

I guess I crossed a line because he punches me thrice until I'm kneeling on the ground coughing. I don't give him the satisfaction of out-powering me, I simply say: "I can do this all day." "Of course you can, of course but unfortunately I'm on a tight schedule" He grabs a gun and gets ready to shoot me. But half of my team is on a mountain spying on him. They shoot some rope over. "So am I!" I say this through gritted teeth. He tries to shoot me but misses.

They slide in through the windows. Gabe, Monty and Dum Dum start shooting at the Hydra agents. Monty runs over to my  shield ant throws it to me. "Rogers, you might need this." That's all I hear before I run after Red Skull. 

Y/N's POV

I hear Jim yelling "We're in. Assault team out!" Him, Dernier and Bucky are in together with some other soldiers. I wait for orders from the Colonel. He instantly orders us to move out and we do it. Some of us are shot and disappear into thin air. We throw grenades and shoot people and they use their fancy Tesseract Technology. It's pure chaos.

We get into the base through the hole in the door that Steve had earlier made. A Hydra agent runs towards us screaming something not even I can understand. I shoot him and the Colonel says: "Let's go find two more". We run somewhere. We don't know where we are running. But I hear Steve's shield hit the walls. Some of us including me and Peggy start running faster.

Most of us just want to be able to say that we saved Captain America's beautiful ass. When we arrive Steve is hiding behind an elevator and this fire-shooting person is trying to make rotisserie Captain out of him. Peggy and I start shooting at the person and he or she explodes. 

Peggy runs over to Steve. "You're late" He has the nerve to say this? "No we're not. Jim gave us the signal too late." I just had to jump in, we were not late. "Weren't you about to" Peggy gets cut off by Steve. "Right"

Steve runs off to somewhere and the next time I see him is when he's running after a plane. The Colonel, Peggy and I sit in Schmidt's car and go to pick him up. "Get in" Steve does what the Colonel told him to do and we speed off after the plane.

"Y/N should come with me. She knows best how to deal with planes.", yells Steve before the Colonel accelerates even more. "I agree" That's all I hear before Steve and I get ready to jump onto the airplane. We're ready to jump but Peggy yells: "Wait!" and kisses Steve. Where's Bucky to kiss me? "Got get him" Peggy this is not the time for me to go get him. I look at the Colonel. "I'm not kissin' you" Rude

"We are close enough jump!" Why do I even say these things? It's not like they're listening to me. We jump and Steve looks back at Peggy.

Some weird things happened on that plane we saw some planes or bombs, I'm not sure with names on them like Boston or Chicago. Now we are moving towards the flight desk. Steve is in the front and I stay behind so that if Red Skull comes he only sees Steve. We were right he came and shot at Steve. Steve winked at me singling me to stay where I am.

"You don't give up, do you?" He was smirking, Red Skull was smirking? Wow. "Nope" Great answer Steve! Wait that's our word! I have to attack Schmidt. Fondue, I forgot! Red Skull is distracted by Steve running towards him. I do the same. Schmidt drops his rifle because of Steve. He starts punching Steve and throws him on the ground. That's when I interfere. I jump onto his shoulders and wrap my legs around his neck. I pull him backwards by putting my hands over his forehead and pulling him towards me.

He doesn't fall. Any other enemy of mine would already be on the ground. He isn't like my other enemies. He is a super soldier, he is stronger than me and more agile. He frees his right arm and wraps his gloved fingers around my neck. We stay like this for at least a minute until Steve throws his shield at Red Skull. He falls on me and I swear I heard something crack. 

I'm filling my lungs with air and crawl out from under Schmidt. When I'm finally strong enough to stand up I see Steve being hit with his own weapon. He pushes Schmidt away and he falls onto the flight desk and we fly straight down towards the ocean. Due to the hole in the window we are pushed towards the back of the plane. I manage to run over to the flight desk  while Steve fights Red Skull. I don't have time to think, I have to help Steve so I thoughtlessly push the button that says 'Autopilot'.

With everyone back on the floor Schmidt yells: "You could have the power of the gods! Yet you wear a flag on your chest and think you fight a battle of nations! I have seen the future, Captain. There are no flags!" I've had enough of thing guy I run over with a copper wire I found on the floor and wrap it around his neck. The wire reminds me of my earlier visit at Stark and of what followed. I hope Bucky is fine.

While Red Skull is choking Steve yells: "Not my future!". He throws his Shield towards us but Schmidt jumps away and the Shield hits the device holding the Tesseract. Schmidt elbows me in the stomach twice and stands up. "What have you done? No!" He picks up the cube and opens some sort of portal while I crawl over to Steve.  We only watch while he gets sucked into the portal and the cube burns through the plane and falls into the ocean. Steve helps me walk over to the cockpit.
