Other: His mother was killed when the Colossal Titan destroyed the wall around the Trost District, causing titans to invade the towns and villages near it. Ever since his mother was eaten alive in front of him, he's had a vengeance to kill all Titans. He became a cadet and joined the military, more specifically the scout regiment, and only then did he find out that he could transform into a Titan at will.
Scenario 1: Your life flashed before your eyes as you struggled, utterly defenseless in the strong hands of a 45 ft Titan. Your village had been attacked by a hoard of titans, which destroyed the town and ate everyone they could get their hands on. It looked down at you with a hunger in its eyes that was unlike any you'd ever seen. it opened its mouth and you closed your eyes, ready for death.
