12: Lady Of The Wind

Days passed by, but there was no news from the elves. Lalaith got more and more worried with the passing days. One day she was lying on the soft white grass, on her side, under the blue trees. Their leaves like blue crystals and trunk black. Her eyes were closed and she was thinking about her mother. She felt someone coming and she opened her eyes and propped herself up on one arm and looked at Rose coming towards her. She sat straight and waited for her to get closer.

"My Lady, I want to ask you something." Rose asked when she reached Lalaith.

"Come sit and ask me." Lalaith said, politely. Rose sat beside her and looked at the trees behind her. "Now, tell me what you want to ask."

"Why is Shisen always with Lily, if he love me more than anyone?" Rose asked loudly.

"There is only one reason and I know it is the one. When he was taken away from me by the elves, he was made a slave. He was cursed there and was thrown away, near the borders of Land of White, which is now known as the Land of Nobles. There Thuna found him and took him away, thinking that he was one of elves' son. She started using him for herself. Lily become friends with him soon enough. She gave him love when he was loveless and hope when he was hopeless. She started helping him and send letter to Shadow about Shisen. They both were tortured by Thuna, but Lily didn't give up. She took Shisen to the roof and there handed him over to Shadow. She saved his life putting her own life in danger. Thuna was angry on her she almost killed her for her doings, but Shadow saved her. I am also thankful to her for saving his life. She was and is his only friend. But he love you, Rose." Lalaith finished and looked at her with a sad smile on her face. Rose opened her mouth to say more but they felt someone behind them. Lalaith turned her head to look behind and saw Shisen staring at them. "Shisen?" She whispered. Rose looked at him with shock.

"The elves will be here within hours. Come if you want to meet them. And remember that you won't tell anyone about my past without my or Lily's permission. I hate to discuss it, even with Lily, who share my past. I hope you understand, mother." He said, rudely and walked away. Lalaith jumped on her feet and ran after her. Rose sat there for few minutes and then stood up. She looked up at the sky and smiled.

"Shisen whenever I know more about you, I want you more than anyone. I want to know about you completely. I promise I will help you." She whispered to herself and rolled the sleeves of her robes from her right arm and looked at the marks. "I thank you for giving me this much. No one would have ever loved more than this." And she walked towards the palace.

Lalaith was running in the corridor after Shisen. When she was near she called out loudly, "Wait." Shisen stopped but didn't turn around. "Who told you about the elves?" She asked stopping behind him. He took a deep breath.

"I saw with my own two eyes." He answered and took a step forward but stopped. "Mother."

"Yes?" She said, looking at the back of his head.
