13: Enemy At The Doors

Lily was sitting on the chair beside the window in her room. It was almost dawn. She felt strange presence around the city of Blue Mountains. There were few people around the city at that time of the morning. Lily stood up and walked towards the window. She looked around the city, feeling uneasy. Her shadow appeared behind her and whispered, "She is here in the city. Your enemy." It said and vanished. Lily stared at the city with confusion. After the sun was fully above the horizon she went to her father's study and told him everything.

"I was also feeling something strange roaming around the city. I think Thuna have found out where are we. It's strange." Shadow said with surprise.

"Should I go to her?" She asked.

"We should make a plan for it." He said and together they went for breakfast, where others were already starting. Shadow described everything and together they made the plan. At almost noon, Lily left the castle to find Thuna. Rose went with her. Together they crossed the bridge and walked into the city. They spotted Thuna, as she started following them. Lily stopped and grabbed Rose's arm. "Let her come near." She whispered. Together they waited until Thuna was two yards away from them. "Why are you following us?" Lily asked aloud. Thuna stopped dead. Together the sisters turned around. And there she stood. Her face covered with the hood of her cloak and her left hand on the hilt of her sword. She slowly moved her hand away from the sword and stood straight.

"Give me back my daughter." Thuna said her voice harsh.

"Mother I am living with them because I wish to. I want to live without you." Rose said, choosing words with difficulty. Thuna stared at her with anger. She dragged her sword out of the scabbard and moved towards her with her sword raised. She forced her sword towards Lily. The people around them stopped and stared in silence. And then, clashing of the swords echoed in the silence. Thuna looked up and saw Lalaith standing in front of her. Shadow, Blue and Finduilas jumped from the roof of the house on the right and landed on their sides. Shisen and Telchar landed on their left side. Thuna moved back and looked at them with anger. Uinen walked towards them from behind. People around the area bowed to them all and ran out of sight.

"It's been a long time, Thuna." Lalaith said, like she was having fun. "You who betrayed us and our children. White is still alive in her daughter's heart. Her soul is guiding Lily. What do you think about it?"

"Liar." Thuna shouted. "Move aside and give my daughter to me." Shisen looked around the street and saw a chair beside a house. He walked towards it and picked it up and walked back where he was standing. He put the chair on the ground and sat on it with cross-legs.

"She don't want to leave." Shadow said, moving forward. "She have found a new family with us." He crossed his arms and studied her.

"All of you are liars." She shouted, getting mad and turned to face Rose. She raised her hand towards her. "Come. Let's go back home. Father is waiting." Rose moved two steps forwards but Lalaith grabbed her arm and looked at Thuna with anger.

"You have taken over her territory and you want her to walk to her death with you? You are ruling the Land of White which is supposed to be ruled by the White Wolf. And you captured Red Forest which was supposed to be ruled by your own daughter. And now you are standing in the home of Blue Night. What do you really want, Thuna?" Everyone, except Shadow looked at her with confusion and shock. "You have betrayed us all." Lalaith shouted with anger and sadness. Shisen and Shadow jumped with shock and looked at Lalaith. "You never cared for us, did you? I loved you, but you betrayed me. White was ready to leave Shadow for you, but still you killed her. She gave you her daughters to protect them, but you treated them as enemies. What do you want with us, now?" Lalaith cried, tears rolling down her face. Lily looked down at the ground and closed her eyes. Rose looked at her mother and moved behind Lily.
