"I am sorry. Will you forgive me?" His voice trembling, Duilin asked. Lalaith pushed herself away from him and looked at him.
"I will. But if you will again leave me, I will never." She said and cleaned the tears on his face with her thumb. He smiled sadly and hugged her again.
"Sorry for saying those words to you.... I'm sorry....I'm sorry." He cried as hard as he could.
"I am happy to have you by my side.... brother." Lalaith whispered and hugged him back. After few minutes they let go of each other and Lalaith stood up. "Did anyone notice me leaving?" She asked, walking towards the window. Before Duilin could answer someone knocked on the door. He jumped on his feet and crawled under the bed. Lalaith ran to the door and opened it. She looked at Finduilas with an expression of shock and happiness.
"Who were you talking to?" Finduilas asked and looked around the room. As she forced her way in, Lalaith moved aside.
"I am alone. Can't I talk with myself?" She asked unable to control her anger.
"How dare you speak with me like that?" Finduilas turned around with anger.
"I dare. I haven't forgiven you for killing Curunir. You ruined my life more than anyone. And I dare to talk to you like that, and I will dare for whole my life." Lalaith shouted. It was the biggest mistake she made. Finduilas glared at her and moved towards her. She stopped only three inches away from her.
"It is your fault. You become a human and let everyone else know that you died."
"You killed Duilin on purpose, right?"
"Yes, I did. I took him to the werewolves to make him sacrifice. And I raised your memories to let you forget everything. Duilin deserved it. I should have let you live like a servant. I should have."
"Finduilas, you are a heartless monster for me. Nothing else." Lalaith shouted as loud as she could. Finduilas slapped her on her left cheek and pushed her with such force that she hit the wall behind her and fell down. For a few seconds Finduilas stared at her, then walked out of the room.
Lalaith jumped on her feet and ran towards her bed. She looked under it and whispered, "Duilin." But there was on answer. She looked under the bed carefully and to her surprise, he was gone. She stood up and ran out of her room. Finduilas was walking in the center of the corridor. Lalaith pushed her aside and ran out in the grounds. Finduilas stared at her with confusion and walked towards her room.
Lalaith ran around the palace, calling for Duilin. She only stopped when Denethor told her that he was somewhere in the city. Next day she was distracted by the preparation for the war. All day she walked among the troops, to see how they were. Pelendur helped by going into the city and gathered people who were willing to join the army. Lily, Shisen, Rose, Telchar and Finduilas made plans with Lalaith. It took them three days to gather everything and everyone needed for the battle. On the dawn of the fourth day, they climbed on their horses and rode out of the city. Lalaith was leading them. Her mind was still blank, the reason was unknown to herself, too. She looked at the sky, as they rode towards the human city, Moonlight. Duilin, why do you want to stay hidden from Finduilas? Is it because of what she did? But why make me suffer? She looked at the sky and screamed with grief. Shadow looked at her with surprise. Finduilas turned her head and stared at her sister. Lalaith screamed for more than three minutes, then she stopped and looked at her hands. She gripped the reins of her horse so hard that her hand started becoming numb. They reached Moonlight after four days and three nights. It was almost midnight when they came close to the city.
It was a very beautiful city. Its walls were twenty feet high and the lights from within the city were illuminating the city. All of them stared at it with amazement. That night they made tent near the city. Lalaith sent a messenger to the city to tell that the nobles of their army will come to see the king of the city, anytime. It was almost dawn when the messenger came back to the camp. He directly went to Lalaith's tent and gave her the news. After he went away she called Lily, Shadow, Telchar, Shisen and other nobles of the army. Then she told them that they have accepted the offer and will be waiting for us. She told Finduilas that she should stay with the army and the rest of them will go in the city alone, without guards. For the humans were nothing in front of them. After one and a half day Lalaith called them. She told Uinen to stay back with Finduilas. Then they set off towards the city. Instead of entering like a human, they used their powers and vanished. They appeared directly inside the hall of the palace. It was dark inside, except for the center. There stood the human princess and a man, whom Lily at once recognized. He was the one who helped Lily to let Shisen escape. Except for Shadow, Telchar and Lalaith, everyone recognized him. Lily walked towards them. She walked like an assassin and came into the light.
