15: Days Before War

Blue and Rose were sitting with Telchar and Uinen. Rose stood up to leave but stopped, as she felt pain in her marks. "Rose, are you alright?" Telchar asked, looking at her with attention. Rose turned around and looked at others with horror.

"Shisen, something happened to him?" She whispered and looked at them with fear. Uinen stood up and walked towards her. She grabbed her from her shoulders and looked into her eyes.

"What happened to him? They can't die, now." Uinen cried. There was a loud bang and they turned around to see Duilin, Lily in his arms. He was crying with madness.

"Save her!!!" He shouted and looked down at her. Blue ran towards him and sat beside him shaking Lily.

"Lily, wake up, Lily please." She cried. Telchar stood up and shouted for Halias and Narui. As they came to him he ordered them to call healers and take Lily to them. Narui ran away to call for the healers, while Halias took Lily from Duilin's arms and walked away, as fast as he could. After few moments Denethor appeared with Shisen. Rose screamed with shock and took him in her arms. After that Denethor vanished, taking Duilin with him. Shisen was also taken to the healers. Within an hour everyone was brought to the palace. Only Shadow and Finduilas were conscious. Lalaith was most badly hurt from inside. She was on the edge of life. Shadow was the one to take her to the healers. Finduilas and Uinen were crying for Lalaith and Shisen.

After four days Lily opened her eyes. The light was very bright for her. She blinked twice and looked at the door of her room. No one was in her room. She threw the blanket off herself and sat straight. Her legs were numb. She get off the bed and walked towards the door. As she put her hand on the doorknob the door opened and Shadow entered the room, closely followed by Blue and Telchar.

"You are up!" Shadow exclaimed and hugged her. "I thought I was going to lose you." He cried.

"I am alright, father." Lily said and patted him on his shoulder. Shadow let go of her and moved back. Blue hugged her tightly and laughed with joy. "Sorry, for making you all worried. What happened to the others?" She asked suddenly remembering about the battle outside the vampire's cave.

"The vampires arrived on the dragons today morning." Blue said moving away from her. "Lady Finduilas and Lady Lalaith are good too."

"What about Shisen?" She asked, tensed. Blue bit her lips and looked at Telchar, who refused to answer. Scared, Lily ran out of her room. First she went in Shisen's room, but neither Rose nor Shisen were there. She ran out into the grounds calling for him. "Shisen!!! Shisen!!!" When she reached the blue trees she saw him with Rose. Both of them stopped and looked at her. Lily forced a smile on her face and ran towards him. When she reached him she hugged him and cried. "For a second I thought that you were dead. You scared me." Rose looked at Shisen and smiled.

"At least you have found more people who care for you." She said and looked at Lily. "You don't know how you and Shisen scared me. I really thought that you both are dead. You weren't the only one." She said and touched Lily on her arm. Lily let go of Shisen and hugged Rose.

"I'm sorry." She whispered. Shisen was still standing still, shocked. "I will save you and Shisen till the end of my life. I will even give my life for it, I promise." She whispered so low that only Rose could listen. Rose closed her eyes and whispered back.

"Not with your life. No." Tears rolled down her face. Lily moved back and smiled.

"I promise you, we will live." And then she turned around and walked away, feeling free. Rose and Shisen kept staring at her with sadness. Lily was all alone in the world of cruelty. She felt save with others but she needed nothing but sadness. She will never be happy.
