In the wanted special, Lars had a lot of character development, from telling Steven why he's such a jerk to sacrificing his own life for the off colors
Lars has always been a jerk to Steven I know that, but eventually that part of him toned down a bit. It pops up every now and then but not as much.
In Lars head he told Steven he'd be safer on earth and instead of doing the hand to chest thing he HUGGED Steven (although to most fans they would have a brotherly relationship)
And in Lars of the stars he was really concerned for Steven and Connie when they crashed on the jungle moon
Not to mention this is my first gay OTP
