I wouldn't say this ship is HATED by the fandom, cause it really isn't, in fact some people like, Gem_God_Steven and I ship it.
But here's why I ship it.
Its because enid gets along with ko really well and cares about him so much, and ko does too! He even offers to let her talk about her problems, and enid trusts ko with her secrets.
In the episode 'ok you get me, ko was worried about what people thought about enid, and when wally turned enid to stone KO got scared and worried, he even said he liked hanging out with enid, then later wally kidnaps stone enid and ko saves her, and enid says some people won't get her and if they did they never would, then she BOOPED KO and ko was cheering his accomplishment
