I was woken up by the sound of waves crashing and sun peeping through the open balcony windows. I rolled onto my back in the empty bed, my eyes still closed.
I propped myself up on my elbows and finally found the energy to look around the empty room. I was, however, able to notice the outline of Camila through the curtains. She was standing outside, leaning against the railing, in one of my big t-shirts, on the phone.
With an unintentional smile, I got out of bed and went to join her outside. She was facing the ocean which allowed me to sneak up and hug her from behind. My face finding her neck and my hands on her waist very quickly. Camila quickly relaxed into me.
As she listened to whatever was going on in her phone, I placed quick, chaste kisses on her neck. She reached behind her with one hand to pull me in a little closer.
"Yeah, I hadn't thought of that. It shouldn't be too hard to get, I have a copy of my contract on my phone. I can get that back to you soon." Camila responded and I quickly made the connection that she was speaking to the director that reached out to her for the job.
My hands came around and dropped to the front of her thighs. I dragged my hands up until they met the bottom of the shirt she had on, which I completely disregarded, and then slid my hands under those as well. I was, however, surprised when my hands came up over her hips without the obstruction of any fabric. If she wasn't on the phone, I probably would've had my hands navigate elsewhere but instead, I kept going until they were flat against her stomach.
"Get off the phone," I whispered, teasingly, before kissing her cheek.
Camila swatted me away with a huge smile but I didn't budge. I looked out onto the relatively empty beach and patiently waited, letting my hands wander.
"Absolutely, I'm incredibly honored, it really means a lot," Camila said and the paused to listen before responding once more. "No, I know it's very much between the two of us. I wasn't expecting this either." She laughed slightly. "I'll look into it and I'll get back to you quickly. Otherwise, the start is as soon as possible, right?"
I was kinda freaking out, without context it seemed like the conversation was a lot more than Camila accepting the interview. I removed my hands from under her shirt and pulled at her waist for her to turn around. I gave her a look of confusion and she smiled before jokingly pushing me away, pulling me in within the same motion.
I kissed the corner of her mouth and her free hand wrapped around my neck.
"We'll speak soon, it was so nice talking to you. Bye!" I then watched Camila properly end the call before attacking her with questions.
"Was that them? And by them, I mean the job people, the people from the university. Are you a swim coach now? Was it the interview? If not, when's the intervie-"
"Shut up!" Camila cut in, chuckling. "First off, hi, good morning." She leaned in for a quick kiss.
"Okay, stop trying to seduce me when I'm exploding with questions."
"So yeah, that was the university, I called to see when they could do the interview and it was the director of atheltics on the phone. Basically he said he just had a couple of questions because they scouted me, not the other way around, and he asked me if I was free."
"That's insane," I said.
"Hold on," she urged. "You were snoring away so I said I had some time now. We went through a couple of things and he explained the process does go through him but also a board and differnt departments. He pretty much told me it's a huge "yes" from him and that its all processing now, which is going to take a little longer than a phone call."
