"I don't believe it". I Could hear Genevieve walk up the stairs. "Zander... We should go to the grocery store. I'll make dinner" Gen said as she entered the room.
Stephen clear his throat, making Genevieve almost jump from her skin. She leaned into me, "Is he there there, or his he there" Gen asked. Stephen walked closer to Genevieve, "This time I'm here here... Hello, I'm Stephen Creed, you must be Genevieve Valentine". Gen smirked, I Could tell she wanted to rip his throat open.
That was one of the thousands of reasons why I loved her. Holy shit, I just said loved. I had told Genevieve all about Stephen an my Sister September. "I've heard a lot about you" Genevieve said with a plight smile. Stephen looked down at Gen and then back at me. "Grocerys sound good". Stephen's grin grew in width, "You want to take the SS" Stephen asked. "No, I'll save Gene the heart attack and take the keys to the Truck".
Vincent left me one of his red Chevy trucks for or if I came back to the house. My motorcycle still sat in the garage, it needed worked on, And I intended to fixs it.
Genevieve walked through the garage door, I opened her door and lifted her into the truck. Stephen got in the back. I still couldn't believe he was alive, and I couldn't believe he didnt come looking for me. As we drove down the road, I looked over at Gen.
I grabbed her hand gently and kissed it, putting it in my lap an continuing to drive to the nearest grocery store. "Are you two together" Stephen asked. I ignored him. Gen looked back at Stephen, "I don't like labels, and Zan doesnt think love is a word". I kinda felt a little troubled when Genevieve said that I didn't think love was a word. I happened to think I loved her, but I didn't know how Genevieve felt about me. "Well, I've never known my brother to kiss a woman's hand... I never seen my brother show as much affection to a woman as he does with you" Stephen said.
Genevieve grip increased as she listened to Stephen talk. The tension in the truck erased as we parked in the Grocery store parking lot. I opened my truck door and walked over to Genevieve's, opening it to help her out. I pulled her to my side, making sure she was tight against me. Gen had on a shorter pair of shorts and a dress up shirt that had ruffles and a light blue color to it. "I'll grab a cart" Gen said, breathing the silence between all of us. She stood at the end as I pushed.
After awhile she took over the cart and began to throw things into it. Stephen and I stayed back behind her. "How long" I asked. Stephen looked down the lines of food. "Since the lasted day I seen you" Stephen said. I grind my teeth together, Really I wanted to stop and beat the hell out of Step. All those years, I almost killed myself because of his death.
"All this time" I whispered. I bit down on my tongue in the thoughts that Step never came to me after his death. "I took therapy because of you... I had a social worker. For fucks sakes, I was experiment on" I said through my teeth.
Stephen looked at me as we turned down another line, "You know about Xavier" Step asked. I ignored him. Stephen took in a deep breath, "Have you met him". I pushed my hands down into my pocket, Genevieve looked back at me, checking to make sure I hadn't ripped my brothers head off. "Yeah, I met him... A couple times" I said as I grabbed a thing of eggs and a thing of Bacon. Genevieve stopped for me to put them in the cart. "Breakfast... I hope you're cooking" Gen said.
I smiled and kissed her forehead as I walked back to Stephen. "Is Mom okay" Stephen asked. I shrugged my shoulders, "I haven't talked to her since before the island".
The grocery trip was over before I knew it. My brother had left with Carter, telling me the house was all mine. He would come and check on me if needed. Genevieve and I was already packing the truck with grocerys. "Did he bother you" Gen asked. I looked down at the empty cart and pushed it into the holders. "No, he's my brother. . I grew up with him". Genevieve looked at me. "What" I asked. Gen bit down on her bottom lips, "You surprise me everyday".
