Audrey's POV
I got off my flight and walked around the airport to baggage claim. I hadn't talked to my parents since the argument and I wasn't planning to. I hailed a taxi.
"Where to miss?" The driver asked me.
"The X factor international please."
As we sped down a highway, I took my phone out and plugged my earphones in. I had practiced for my audition a lot lately. I was going to sing "killing it" by Cher Lloyd. She was my idol. When we got there, there was a line to the thousands. I had almost no chance. I didn't even know who were the judges this year yet. It was nerve racking.
I watched so many faces come out covered in tears. Barely anyone made it through. Wow. These judges must be harsh. It felt like only minutes before I was at the front of the line. I was so nervous. I had put on a really casual outfit on. I had a white shirt with a four leaf clover on it, with dark blue skinny jeans, a pair of cream colored 6 inch heals and a cream colored cardigan. Soon, the security guards were telling me to go inside. As I walked inside the building, it shocked me how large it was. I heard someone singing. Wow! That was horrid! It hurt my ears!
I got closer and closer to the stage. Soon, someone was coming over to me. He asked me a few questions. He was quite nice. He waited with me. Soon, it was time for me to audition.
"Off you go." He told me.
As I walked onto the stage, I heard piercing screams. I composed myself and tried to look as confident as I could. I looked at the judge panel and almost fainted. Cher Lloyd was one if the judges. She was my idol. I recognized all the judges. Matt Cardle, Mary Byrne, One direction, and Cher Lloyd. Wow.
"Hello love. What's your name?" Liam Payne from one direction asked me.
"Audrey Grey." I told them.
"Now Audrey, tell us a little about yourself."
"I'm 17, and I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia."
"Wow. Vancouver was a lovely city. Tell me, how do your parents feel about all this."
Why did he have to ask that? I looked down and I could feel the tears coming to my eyes. I wish they could have been here to cheer me on. I forced the tears back and looked up.
"They kinda wished I could have a more practical dream like being a doctor. They decided not to come today. I never really listened to my parents as a child though, why start now?"
Everyone laughed.
"What song will you be singing?" Mary asked me.
I blushed and replied.
"Killin' it, by Cher Lloyd." Cher smiled.
The music started to play. I took a deep breath and sang the song. As I sang, I walked around the stage as if I was already a pop star. It was amazing. I just got such an adrenaline when I was on the stage. It was amazing. When the song ended, I was brought back to earth. Everyone stood up and cheered for me. All of the judges as well. As the judges sat down, the band commented first.
"That was amazing! I think you really got what it takes to be a pop star. You sang really well" Zayn commented.
"I think you've definitely got what it takes. You've got the style, the talent, the looks..." Harry winked at the end of the sentence. I pretended to be embarrassed.
"You've got a really strong stage presence. You did your audition so well. I have a feeling no one will be forgetting about you." Liam said.
"Thank you."
"THAT WAS FABULOUS!!!" Louis said in a fake posh accent. I laughed.
"I loved your shirt!!! Plus, you've got this kind if charm to you. You have an amazing voice." Niall said.
"We're going to vote now." Mary told me.
The band was whispering amongst themselves. After a long time of whispering, the boys finally broke apart. Liam looked at me.
"We think that you've got so much talent and charm for a 17 year old, and you've got a shot here. We vote yes."
I was bursting inside.
"Thank you so much!!!"
Cher Lloyd looked at me. I wanted a yes from her so bad. It would mean everything in the world to me. She was my idol.
"I think, that you are so pop star material!!! It helps that you're a diva like me." She told me. "I vote yes."
Someone better carve my gravestone cause I died right there.
"I could sense that you were nervous, but that just added to it. Your singing held so much emotion, even with a fast song like that. I could really tell that you love singing, and that this is what you wanted to do when you grow up. I vote yes." Mary told me.
I was through to boot camp!!!! The only thing that could make this any better would be if I got four yesses. I glanced at Matt.
"You were probably the best audition we've had so far. You brought it. I think that the other contestants should be a little worried about you. 100% yes." Matt told me.
"Oh my gosh. Thank you so much!!!" I was in shock. I basically ran off stage and squealed. This is amazing!!! I'm through!!!!
"How you feeling?" The man asked me.
"I feel amazing! I didn't expect that reaction at all. I'm living the dream."
I really was living the dream.
