The rooftop of the hospital is a lot more calming than Jimin thought it would be. He originally thought the height of the building would be intimidating but instead he feels quite safe, almost as if nothing could knock him down from here.
He knows he'll have to come up with some sort of excuse to tell Hoseok when he returns, but he can worry about that when he's ready to return to the hospital room.
Jimin tilts his head to the side, and shifts his gaze upwards, to the stars. They seem to be especially bright, as if they're shining just for him. No, they're shining for Hoseok.
-
Hoseok's fingers mess with the bandages around his injured arms as he waits for Jimin to come back. Something was very wrong. His eyes look full of fear and panic, his hands were trembling, and he was crying.
Crying.
Hoseok remembers Jimin's words to him on the first day he arrived. He remembers the kiss they shared. That's why he decides to go look for Jimin.
-
"It's cold out. You should come back inside."
Jimin looks towards the source of the voice to find Hoseok standing at his side in a hospital gown. His bandages are loose, but he doesn't seem to notice or care.
Jimin is at a loss for words. He doesn't know if Hoseok expects him to explain or not. The older boy looks down at him.
"Please." He whispers. Jimin nods, and stands. Hoseok leads him back to his hospital room, and they both sit on the bed together.
"Please tell me."
"There's nothing to tell." Jimin lies, not able to meet Hoseok's gaze. Jimin gasps when Hoseok's bandaged hand brushes against his cheek as gently as a feather. Hoseok's eyes are pleading, and Jimin wants to give in so badly but-
"Jimin, I'm not stupid. I told you my story and I want to know yours." Hoseok's fingers trace the outlines of Jimin's lips and eyes and nose and finally, Hoseok places a gentle kiss on Jimin's temple.
"There's nothing to tell." Jimin insists. Hoseok looks away with a sigh, and lays down.
"I don't want to make your life worse by telling you." Jimin whispers to Hoseok's sleeping body.
