Chapter 9

Star shifted uneasily. Who was this?
The NightWing was burly and scarred, a not-so-thrilling grin upon his face.
"Father?!" Moon demanded, her eyes widening.
Gold and Star exchanged a shocked look. This dragon looks nothing like Moon!
The large dragon shook himself out. "Yes. It is me, little Moon... and I don't like your company!" He suddenly burst out, his voice loud. He grabbed Moon, causing both Star and Gold to cry out, and flew away quickly.
Star had wide eyes, and was the first to take off. Gold followed more slowly.
The two steadily caught up, Moon was limp in her father's talons.
Star hopped on his back, tearing up his scales and causing him to roar in pain and drop Moon. Gold grabbed the female NightWing and started flying away with her. Star continued to fight and hurt Moon's father until he was killed. Afterwards, Star flew towards Moon and Gold, only to find Gold struggling. He sighed and took Moon from Gold, and as Gold collapsed he put the RainWing on his back, carrying them both like a badass.
Star flew to a conveniently placed grassy cliff, tumbling over into the grass, and setting down Gold and Moon. Gold wheezed, but refused to let Nightstar heal him.
So Star healed Moon instead, and she sat up, rubbing her head.
Gold recovered and sat up, snarling at Star. He seemed to be looking for someone to blame.
Star looked taken aback.
"You- it's a your fault!"
Star scoffed. "EXCUSE me?! If I remember, YOU'RE the one who stabbed ME, and I'm made it so I had to be HEALED."
Gold shrieks, "ONLY BECAUSE YOU WON'T LET ME HAVE MOON!"
Moon stepped between the two males, protesting feebly. She was overruled by Star.
"Oh, my sincerest apologies. I would think that a NIGHTWING could have another crush on a NIGHTWING!"
"RACIST!" Gold screeched.
Moon and Star were silent.
"I'm just going to ignore that...
"Gold, if your brain was as big as your ego, you'd be the smartest dragonet ever." Star said coldly.
Gold got ready to screech a retort, but was interrupted by Moon.
"I can't take this. In the morning, I'll choose someone. I will sleep by them, that way you'll know," She said angrily.
Star and Gold looked at each other, their eyes narrowed, but nodded. Moon exhaled slowly, making a little 'hmph' sound. She trotted over to a smol stream and licked up some water, Star and Gold watching her wistfully.
Moon stretched out and sank to the ground, yawning. She ignored the males and closed her eyes. Gold, as usual, shot a scorching glance at Star, then settled down a bit away.
Star rolled his eyes. Moon wouldn't pick him, not in a million years.
Or even a billion.
He laid down, his ears flicking. He wondered if Gold would cheat and stay up, but before he could pursue that thought, the black walls of sleep rose to claim him.
