Chapter 10

Bright sunlight streamed in through Star's eyelids, but he didn't not open them to relieve himself of the redness.
He was scared he would find Moon sleeping, nestled up against Gold.
The NightWing slowly opened his eyes when he could not bear it any longer. He shifted, and felt something warm up against his scales. He looked over, and there was a certain female NightWing snuggled against him, fast asleep.
Star's eyes widened. She had chosen him?!
He glanced over toward where Gold had fallen asleep the night before.
The RainWing was sitting up, rubbing his head. He didn't take as long as Star did go check. Clear disappointment showed on his features when he didn't see Moon laying by him.
Star's wings quivered as he stared down at Moon. Gold shot him a scorching look, turning his head up snobbishly.
Nightstar sighed. Why did Gold have to be so difficult? Yes, Star "won", but they could still be friends!
Moon yawned and sat up, stretching out. She smiled at Star. He smiled uncertainly back.
"This is so unfair! You only picked him because he's a NightWing!" Gold wailed. Star stood up, his ears flat against his head in anger.
"No, it's the fact that I am not snobby, I am not rude, and I do not turn my snout up at every kind gesture!" Star yelled back.
Gold opened his mouth, but closed it again. Star supposed he had found truth in his words.
Moon shook her head. "Stop fighting," She said wearily.
Star sighed and nodded. Gold copied him, but still looked like he wanted to continue the pointless argument.
"We should get back to Jade Mountain. They'll be wondering where in three moons we are," Star suggested mildly. Moon nodded in enthusiastic agreement.
Gold heaved a dramatic, suffering sigh, which caused the two NightWings to roll their eyes in exasperation.
"You are just a show.." Star mutters, casing Gold to snap his head in the NightWings' direction. Before Gold could interrogate him on what he had said, Star took off with Moon right behind him.

-Gold's POV-

Star thought he was so much BETTER than Gold, just because Moon has chosen HIM.
Moon only chose him because he was another NightWing. She was racist too!
Gold snorted as he flew back to Jade Mountain with the two dragons of Night.
His scales shifted to an angry orange, but he got them under control before Star could see and make a sneering remark.
He was always doing that; what had Gold ever done wrong to him?! All he wanted was Moon... and possibly the satisfaction of seeing Star mad at him because he had won Moon over...
Maybe if Gold showed Moon that Star wasn't worthy of her, she'd take him instead.
The RainWing turns pink with delight and this time Star does see. The NightWing makes a remark, and Gold's mind twists it into a rude one, despite Star just commenting, "I'm glad you're happy."
Moon smiled at Star and Gold. "I'm glad you two are getting along!"
She had no idea...
