Hey, so I was asked to do a tutorial on eyelashes, so here it is!

So start by drawing an eye (sorry for the lined paper, I was in class when I did this)

So when you draw your eyelashes, practice making flicks with your pencil. Make sure your pencil is fairly sharpened, too. When you draw the flicks, they should be quick and clean.

Your pencil needs to be placed at the underside of the eyelid, and Youngstown draw basically a Nike swoosh or two (though they aren't so defined and straight at Nike swooshes)

Helpful note: DO NOT DRAW EVERY SINGLE EYELASH INDIVIDUALLY. SERIOUSLY. I'm not saying this because I'm lazy, I'm saying it because drawing every single individual minuscule eyelash creates this fan-like look around the eyes, and unless that's the look you're going for (why tho?) you don't want to do that.

So, once you've drawn a couple flicks, you should end up with something like this:

A few flicks on the top eyelid should surround the eye, and curve naturally. Notice how the ones on the right side of the eyelid curve the opposite way.

So now you've got to add some flicks/eyelashes on the bottom eyelid:

The bottom lashes are usually shorter and lesser in number compared to the top ones

The bottom lashes are usually shorter and lesser in number compared to the top ones. Don't overdo it. Keep it minimal and clean.

So the bottom ones are curved, too. Too often I've seen people draw eyelashes sticking straight up, but I've yet to actually see someone like that. While some people have straight eyelashes, they don't stick up so much, they actually do the opposite; but we won't get into that yet.

So, you're probably wondering how to make that full-eyelash-look without drawing every single lash, right? Well, all you gotta do is thicken them a little, make 'em darker, and add some thinner ones where appropriate.

Tad-a!!! You've got some mighty fine eyelashes!

Now, here's a bunch of eyelashes to look at that might be able to help you out if you want to draw eye makeup:

So in this one above, the eye on top is an example of "straight eyelashes." They kind of just stick out from under the eyelids.
