So I was asked to do some art reviews and tips for TheEchoingColors , so here it is!

So the first one that stuck out to me was this one:

This is a drawing of Ziva David from NCIS, which actually does resemble Ziva

This is a drawing of Ziva David from NCIS, which actually does resemble Ziva. For this drawing, I have three tips:

1. Don't smudge. Smudging is when you use your pencil and then smudge your finger over the pencil mark to create shadows. I used to do this all the time, but trust me, it's an amateur mistake that everyone makes. Try using different pressures with your pencil for shadows and varying elevations on the face and body. I know it's hard to stop smudging, it took me forever, but trust me, your work will look more professional ;)

2. The eye is a complex shape. In elementary school they taught us to make eyes like footballs, but really, they're not. I drew a rough sketch of what the shape of an eye should look like below to show you. (I'm currently in class so I had to use lined paper)

So the first image is the beginning shape of an eye. As you can see, you need to make a little space where the gross pink part of the eye is (idk what it's called).

Next, make a dark mark in the middle (or wherever you want the eye to be looking) and sketch out a larger circle around it

Next, you need to draw the fold arc thing on the eyelid above the eye

Next, you need to draw the fold arc thing on the eyelid above the eye. Add some sketchy shadows on the white of the eye to give it some depth and around the skin of the eye.

To create the iris, make the top of the iris darker because of the shadow of the eyelid. Make the border of the iris darker, too.

Then, add a few flicks of your pencil to make the eyelashes

Then, add a few flicks of your pencil to make the eyelashes. That's all they are; quick flicks.

Lastly, darken the eyelashes and make them thicker so they look more voluminous

Okay, so that was my eye demonstration

Okay, so that was my eye demonstration. Now to my last tip.

3. It's okay to be messy. Artists are messy. If you've ever seen any of my sketches, you'll notice how sketchy they are. Everybody has a different style, but remember it doesn't have to be cookie-cutter perfect.

Now for the review!

The picture is actually really good. The shape of the head is anatomically correct, and most of the features on the face are proportionate. Props to you for including the ears; those are, in my opinion, the hardest to draw.

I'll leave comments and vote on more of your art, but I'm a little busy in class right now and I know you would appreciate more than just one picture looked at!
