39. Dinner

The warm glare in the sky is finally settling. An array of colors changes from sky blue to orange. The sky darks after it disappeared. The sun will travel the world and return at dawn.

With their fingers intertwined, Sumi drifts to sleep on Hoseok's shoulder with the help of the cool breeze. The calmness around him left his heart in excitement and his eyes couldn't stay on the road. His hand is on the steering, but his eyes glance at his wife who is smiling in her slumber.

His grip on her hand tightens and he leaves a peck on her forehead.

"I love you baby"

They reach home and starts cleaning the mess in the house as his friends will be there soon.  
Mickey keeps running from Hoseok to Sumi, checking up on them to see if they're working right.

The doorbell rings and they look at each other. The tension in her keeps rising as they walk together to answer it. Hoseok pats her lower back softly and she narrows her lips to a thin line.

"Hyung!" Hoseok's eyes lit up with happiness and he hugs Jin. Yoongi and Jimim behind grins at him before waving to Sumi.

"Uncle Hosie is hugging daddy" Manse giggles and his mom Jiya smiles at the sight.

Sumi gulps while holding onto her dress tightly and her heart pounds heavily.

They greet Sumi and she smiles back at them.

"hello"

Somehow kids are attracted to Sumi's calm personality and Manse goes into her arms. She starts getting comfortable hearing them talk and laugh about random things.

Manse plays with Sumi's hair and she smiles widely when he kisses her cheek. Everyone turns to look at her surprised and their eyes widen.

She feels uncomfortable and stands up from the couch.

"Um..i'll go-- prepare food"

Yoongi nods at her while caressing Mickey and Jiya offers to help Sumi.

It's awkward for both the ladies who are busy in the kitchen but Jiya breaks the silence.

"How is your health now Sumi?"

"I'm..I'm okay now" Sumi smiles at her and Jiya pats her shoulder.

"You know Sumi, you're very lucky to find a person like Hoseok. It's hard to find such a caring person these days. No matter how hard it is, he's always cheerful and makes others happy, hiding his feelings behind that smile"

They look at Hoseok who is laughing loudly with his friends and Sumi's eyes soften at the sight.

"I still can't believe that he finally found the love he's been waiting for. I hope you both stay happy together" She ends with a smile and hugs Sumi, patting her back.

"I hope so too"

Jin keeps talking to the younger boys but Yoongi is the only one listening. Hoseok and Jimin's eyes are somewhere else, admiring her.

They look at Sumi lovingly and she looks up at them when she felt their stare piercing her.
Her hands sweat and cheeks turn red watching her husband who's looking at her cook.
She's busy staring at her husband, not realizing there's another person wanting her attention too.
