44. Storm

"Baby, wake up" Hoseok kisses her head as he does push-ups above her. She groans softly, tossing around with a frown on her face.

He attacks her with kisses and she smiled with her eyes closed.
Hoseok grins at her and helps her to sit up straight.

"Freshen up quickly, I'll prepare breakfast"

He winks at her and leaves to the kitchen as Sumi goes into the restroom. Hoseok has been working from home for the past one month to take care of his wife. Sumi's father understood her situation and allowed Hoseok to be with her since she's more important to him than anything else in this world. Even though he visits often to check up on his daughter, he's still worried about her and partially blames himself for not giving her a better childhood. He thinks that if only she had a mom, Sumi wouldn't be this stressed and her mom wouldn't let her be sick.

Sumi completes more than half the portion of food that Hoseok prepared but he doesn't complain. He wants her to eat well and be healthy and would do anything to keep her happy.

He looks at her as she eats and Sumi blushes.

"Sorry, I'm eating too much" she giggles and Hoseok squeals internally while watching her.

"You need to" he pats her stomach and kisses the tip of her nose before pulling her towards him.

She sits on his lap with her legs wrapped around his waist, her arms around his neck, pushing her body close to him.

She's falling for him every second they are together. He's the only one she wants.

Looking adoringly at her, he teases her with his lovely compliments making Sumi blush and hide her face on his chest.

Gently squeezing her body into his arms, he strokes her hair and she enjoys the feeling of being protected. It never seemed to end, but they didn't mind because, they always craved for this.

Love and affection from that one person whom they dearly love make them reach the gates of heaven.

"Jimin-ah, I'm really sorry but please help me," Hoseok asks again trying to persuade Jimin to look after Sumi as he needs to go on a very important business trip.

Jiya is busy for the next one week and Jin needs to take care of his son, Yoongi is busy making money and moreover, Sumi is only comfortable with Jimin. So he's the only one who can help. Hoseok can ask Younha but he doesn't want to mingle with that girl anymore and neither can he ask Sumi's father because he's going together with Hoseok.

Jimin doesn't have a problem to look after Sumi since he knows that she needs help right now, but something is stopping him from going towards her. He can't do this and shouldn't do this but he doesn't have a choice but to help out his best friend.

"Fine, I'll do it"

Hoseok fist bumps in the air and hugs Jimin as a 'thanks', walking out of his cabin.

"Be home by 6:00 pm don't be late!" Hoseok screams before he exists.

"Do you need to go?" Sumi asks her husband with her lips turned down into a pout.

He could feel a searing pain in his heart realizing that he needs to stay away from Sumi. He gulps to hold back the tears that are threatening to fall.

"It's just two days Sumi, I'll come back soon. Jimin will take care of you until then alright? Please eat everything he gives you and sleep well until I come" He holds her face and wipes her tears.

She nods slightly and looks into his eyes.

"My body may be away from you baby, but I'm always with you" he smiles at her and takes her into his embrace one last time before he walks out the room with his luggage.

Standing outside of Hoseok's apartment, Jimin sighs heavily with a cover in his hand.

He goes in and fakes a smile at his friend.

"Take care of her Jimin"

Hoseok smiles before he walks out of the house.

Soon, the flashes of lightning lit up the darkened sky, followed by cracks of thunder and the lightning splintered the darkened sky. Loud thunders echoed throughout the house.

Worried, Jimin goes up to Sumi's room to check up on her with a bowl of hot soup.

He knocks on the door twice and walks in when she didn't answer.

His eyes move from her sleeping figure and scan the room. After closing the curtains, he turns on the heater and tucks the blanket on Sumi making sure she isn't cold.

Jimin taps on her shoulder and she opens her eyes slowly, immediately waking up.

"You need to eat" he sits on the ground beside the bed and offers her the bowl.

Sumi smiles at him and he returns it as she takes the bowl from him.

She completes half of it and the last thing she remembers is Jimin's face before she blacks out.

Had she known what this storm would bring, she wouldn't have...
