Habits are hard to break
Because they are practiced action.
Sort of ritualistic.
Prime examples of this are
When I would steal quick glances in your direction, or
When I would gravitate towards you when walking, or
When I would block everything out to listen to you talking.
Jokes that weren't really funny were hilarious coming out of your lips
And I found myself laughing every time.
I did it so much that it would just sort of start to happen on its own and
Often times I would catch myself doing these things and
Try to hold myself back from doing them because
I knew the only reward I'd receive was heartache but
It never really worked.
It never really stopped because
It had become habit.
