"Stop!" This is getting annoying, "It's just a triangle for Pete's sake!"

The new member who is assigned with the triangle messed up for the fourth time now.

"Ok, let's take a break for now," Travis says. I hear grunts and murmurs as everyone moves from their seat, "Let's have a group practice, everyone be back after an hour, the triangle and piano stays here,"

The room becomes silent when there's only the three of us.

"Peter..."

"I am really sorry, Travis butー"

"Are you dumb? You only strike that damn thing twice, thrice butー"

"Mia!" Travis cuts me, "Peter, this is the recording of our last practice before you join," He hands him the club's flash drive, "Play it over and over again until you get the timing,"

I roll my eyes but I gasp when one strong hand pull my wrist upward, "And as for you, let's talk,"

We are inside the empty club advisor's office and my heart is beating fast when Travis crosses his arms on his chest as he stares at me, "What's wrong with you today? He's not that bad,"

"He's always late half a beat," I say. I mastered the timing on my first day, why can't he? I almost said but I decided to shut my mouth.

"Come here," he says but my instinct tells me not to move.

He shakes his head at my obstinance. Clicking his tongue, "Let's go out for a bit," he says.

After five minutes, we are walking aimlessly at the side of the baseball field. I look around looking for Denver, he must be here somewhere but I stop when I remember what happened last night. It's better not to see him today, "Let's go to the cafeteria," I say to Travis trying to get away as soon as possible.

But it's just my relationship with bad luck, the moment I step away from the field, Denver's voice echoes from not so far away, "Karla!!!"

I pretend not to hear him but his voice becomes so close, I know he is running towards me, "Karla!" He calls in between his deep breaths.

I turn around, "What?" I try to be casual like what we usually do when we meet like this but I think it's impossible now. The usual bully in him is nowhere to be found.

He becomes a bit awkward as he looks at me. His smile fades when he recognized Travis beside me, "Oh, you're with someone,"

Travis nods at him, no expression on his face but Denver's forehead forms a deep crease as he stares at him, "Can you leave us for now?"

Travis shrugs his shoulders and walks past us like he doesn't care at all, like what he usually does when he sees me and Denver together.

His indifference bothers me a bit everytime but now it's a relief.  As much as I don't want to talk to Denver at the moment but talking to him in front of Travis is just too much for me to handle.

I take a sigh of relief when Travis found a friend from the distance. They are talking right now. No trace of worry in his actions.

"Is he hitting on you?"

I almost choke on my spit when I hear his question.

I shake my head so hard, "Oh my god, no!"

"Molly told me you only kissed him in the cafeteria because of a silly game,"
