Indirect Proof

~In Mathematics, Proving has two different types: Direct and Indirect proof. Wherein indirect proof teaches us one thing. That an assumption will always lead to contradiction.~

"Because my heart beats fast. Really fast," I said.

She frowned again but this time time with annoyance. "Just because of that? The hell. And I'm involved here because..."

Should I tell her? Nakakahiya kung sakali pero much to prove if I have or not that stupid heart disease, Im going to tell her about this.

"Because those fast heart beats are just...for you. Only you," I said while waiting for her response to my sudden confession to her. But much to my surprise when I looked at her direction, she's just staring blankly at me.

"Hey," I said. "Speak up. What can you say?"

Just like what happened earlier, she just stared at me. Pusang lumundag naman oh! Kinakabahan ako lalo eh! Hindi ba siya magsasal--

"What. The. Hell," I heard her sudden reaction. Sa palagay ko, nagprocess pa ng matagal sa mataba niyang utak ang sinabi ko. Siguro for the first time, hindi nagfunction ng mabilis ang mga kulubot ng utak niya dahil sa sinabi ko.

"Are you...perhaps kidding me?" she asked. Totally confused. "Oh c'mon. Are you putting some tricks on me or nagjojoke ka. Grabe. Mr. Anderson, hindi nakakatuwa."

"I'm not kidding you. Hindi rin kita pinagtritripan. Yun yung nararamdaman ko eh. Kapag nakikita kita, automatic na napapangiti ako. Bumibilis din yung tibok ng puso ko. Hindi rin ako mapakali. Basta! Ang sinasabi ko lang ay hindi ako nagjojoke," I explained.

"Give me a minute to think," was all she said. Nakita ko na nagfocus siya sa pag- iisip dahil visible ang serious lines sa noo niya habang nakahawak sa baba. At totoo ngang isang minuto lang siyang nag- isip at tumingin sa akin.

She heaved a deep sigh before proceeding to her explanation or should I say to her scientific explanation.

"Look. Can you please get straight to the point. Are you saying that your so called Heart was beating fast for me? Are you out of your mind? You're always denying that you don't like me tapos eto. Sasabihin mo tumitibok yang puso o whatsoever diyan sa loob mo?" I can say that she was totally annoyed and irritated by the thought.

Medyo napa- isip din ako. What if I liked her? Anong gagawin ko? Kung gusto ko siya, bakit may crush pa rin ako Kay Llana? Kung gusto ko siya, bakit hindi ko maamin sa sarili ko? Hindi pa rin ba siya naniniwala sa sinasabi ko?

Hesitant man pero gagawin ko 'to to prove that it was really beating for her. I crossed the remaining distance between us and ignored her personal space. I grabbed her hand and placed it to my chest.

Shocked. Was all written to her face dahil sa ginawa ko. "Do you feel it? Those fast and loud heart beats? Do you believe me now?"

Dug. Dug. Dug.

She just stared at me. Nanatili lang kami sa ganung pwesto ng mga ilang minuto. Nagulat na lang ako ng itulak niya ako palayo at bawiin ang kamay niya sa akin.
