Dreamt About You...

Chapter 4

We got out of the car and Murr and Jen were holding hands. Next to us, another car rolled up and it was Bessy, Joe and Q.

We all got out of the cars and walked down to the beach together. Jenifer walked off without me, so I was left walking behind them all. Q and Joe and Bessy were walking together. Murr and Jenifer were in front leading everyone down, and me and Sal were walking behind.. in silence. Everyone else was having a conversation and laughing but me and Sal were definitely the odd ones out. We didn't even make eye contact.

Me and Sal were pretty far behind everyone else as we were both focusing on our phones. When we finally caught up all the best spots were taken. I sat down on the End and Sal sat between me and Q. It was quite awkward. Jenifer and Murr were on their own and she literally left me with strangers!

Murr and Jenifer began to walk off.
"Where are you going?" I shouted over to Jen.
"Me and Murr are gonna go for a walk. Bye" she told me as they walked off.

Q got up and stood staring at us.
"Who wants to go in the sea?!" He asked.
"I will!" Joe said.
"Me!" Bessy replied.
"Sal?" Q asked.
"Nope. I'm fine" Sal said.
"What was your name?" Q asked.
"Carly. And no I'm fine" I said to him. Bessy, joe and Q all ran off in the sea. Now it was just me and Sal. I couldn't even think of anything to say. He sat there, with his shades on, enjoying the sun, so I popped my headphones in and listened to music as I read my book.
Shortly after I felt someone gently rubbing my thigh. I popped my book down and saw it was Sal.
"Oh it's you. I thought it was a spider or something" I said to him. He lightly laughed.
"I was trying to get your attention. I was calling you for ages. I was wondering if you wanted an ice cream?" He offered me. Not only was this the first time he had spoken to me, it's the first time he's properly spoken since he was here.
"Yes please" I replied.
"Wanna come?" He asked. I smiled and got up and walked with him.
