Chapter 42

Carly's POV

I went shopping with Jen as she randomly asked me. It was around 5pm when we walked home together. I got home to see a note on the front door reading 'Be prepared for the most memorable day of your life, love Sal xxx'
I turned to Jen, who I could instantly tell was hiding something from me.
"What does this mean?" I asked her with a smile.
"You'll have to find out!" Jen replied. I got in to see a bag on the table addressed drop me and another for Jen. I picked up the bag and looked inside and a smile grew on my face. I pulled out what was inside, which was a short cream white dress.
"This is gorgeous!" I exclaimed.
Jen pulled out a lavender dress
"These are beautiful!" Jen said.
I peered into the bag to reveal about her note.
'Get changed, Joe will be picking you up very soon, love Sal xx'

I did as I was told and got ready as fast I could. I still had no idea what was happening but I was excited anyway. I got ready and put on some mascara and lip stick and waited outside.
Jen was looking at me with a smile and tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
"They're happy tears!" She reassured me.
"Why?" I asked with a smile.
"You've come so far. With your parents leaving you due to your argument, creating the bakery.. and leaving" she said with a laugh. "Starting a new life here in New York and finding a great guy, Sal. You two deserve happiness!" Jen told me. I hugged her, then Joe turned up. Me and Jen had one of those Best Friends moments.
"Chauffeur!" Joe joked.
We got into the car as Joe drove. I noticed we were heading for the beach and I still had no clue. Although it was beautiful. The sun setting on the sea... gorgeous. Joe parked next to the beach. He opened the car door and held my hand and walked me down. On the sand laid red rose petals, like a path.
"Follow the roses!" Joe told me. Jen and Joe walked a different way and let me find my own way. I stared at the ground and followed them.. until I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw Sal. His beautiful green eyes shimmering into mine.
"You look amazing!" Sal said to me.
"Thanks. I love your suit!" I said. "Why are we here?" I asked.
"Well I wanted to surprise you.." Sal said.
"Surprise me with what?" I asked.
"Geez calm down" Sal said with a laugh. "We are almost there!" He told me. Sal held my hand as he led me somewhere. I turned the corner and saw fairy lights dangling amongst the trees and saw family and friends.
"What's this?" I asked Sal, turning to be face to face with him.
"Our wedding" he said with a wide smile.
"What?" I asked.
"I wanted to surprise you. I didn't want to wait any longer to marry you" Sal told me.
"I love you so much" I said, kissing him.
"Then shall we get married?" Sal asked.
"Definitely!" I replied. We walked to the front where Jen, Murr, Joe and Q were stood.
"What about the food?" I asked.
"Q got it!" Sal said, pointing at a plastic bag full of food.
"Classy" I joked with a laugh.
"Who's officiating it?" I asked.
"Joe" Sal told me.
"What about.." I began.
"Just stop worrying babe!" Sal said with a giggle. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see my mum and dad.
"What are you doing here?" I asked with tear. I haven't seen them in years. But they were happy tears.
"We got a call inviting us here. We are so sorry for everything. Your our little princess!" They said. "Please.. forgive us?" My dad asked.
"Of course!" I said, throwing my arms around them. I turned around.
"Thanks Sal" I said to him.
"Actually... that wasn't me who invited them" Sal said with s puzzled look.
"It was me" Q said. "I done it as an apology for how I treated you and Sal and I knew you'd want them here" Q explained.
"Thanks Q" I replied, hugging him.
Sal wiped away the tears from my eyes.
"Now can I please marry you" Sal said.
"Yep" I replied with a laugh.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, the joining of two hearts and to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite this couple in marriage" Joe began. "Now for the vows" Joe added. "Sal first?" Sal nodded.
Sal took a deep breath.
"I Sal Vulcano take you Carly to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever" Sal said to me with a huge smile.
"Now Carly, repeat this.." Joe told me with a warm smile. I looked up into Sal's eyes and said
"I Carly take you Sal to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever" I said to him with another smile.
"Sal Vulcano do you take Carly to be your wife?" Joe asked.
"I do" Sal replied, holding onto my hands.
"Carly, do you take Sal to be your husband?" Joe asked me.
"I do" I replied.
"I now-" a joe began.
"Oh wait!" Sal interrupted. He turned around as Murr passed him a brown bag. Then he handed it to me. I pulled it out to reveal a red velvet cupcake!
"What's this?" I asked.
"The best red velvet cupcakes on the planet!" Sal smirked. This was because when we first met we went to the cupcake shop on the beach and said how these were the best.
However, on top of the cake, in the icing, were the two rings. I couldn't help but giggle at the thoughtful but funny gesture.
"Wedding rings are an unbroken circle of love, signifying to all the union of this couple in marriage" Joe said.
"Even if they are on a cake" I joked.
"This ring is my sacred gift, with my promise that I will always love you, cherish you and honor you all the days of my life" Sal said as he slid the ring on my finger.
"This ring is my sacred gift which came in a cake" I joked. "with my promise that I will always love you, cherish you and honor you all the days of my life..." I replied, placing the ring on his finger.
"By the power vested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife!" Joe revealed. "You may kiss the bride!" He said.
Sal placed his hands on my neck and pulled me in for a soft kiss, as I wrapped my hands around his waist. I felt his smile crease against my lips.
"I love you" he whispered.
"I love you so much more" I replied.

After seeing and talking to everyone, Murr drove up in a roofless limo. He got out and placed the keys in Sal's hands.
"This belongs to you" Murr told him.
"Thanks bud!" Sal replied. Sal held my hand and led me into the car, then he sat in the drivers seat. He started up the car. I turned around to see Jen, Murr, Q and Joe stood waving to us, as we drove away.
"I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you" Sal said as we drove away. I kissed his cheek.
"I love you!" I replied as we drove away to begin our new lives together as Mr and Mrs Vulcano...
