Chapter 19

The next morning, I woke up to Sal still sound asleep on my lap sleeping peacefully. I glanced at the clock and saw the time was 8am, and I thought Sal ought to get up. I gently brushed my hand over his arm. Sal gently moved onto his side not waking up. I lightly laughed then woke him up.
"Good morning" he said in a croaky voice.
"Morning" I replied with a smile. He sat up on the sofa next to me, checking his phone.
"I have a lot of messages from my mum" he said with a laugh

Sal's mum: we are having a family dinner party, and we were wondering if you and your girlfriend would like to come so we can meet her?
Sal: okay xxx

I sat on the sofa and began to read my book, whilst Sal was on his phone. He stopped checking and looked at me for a while. I knew he was attempting to get my attention, so I ignored him to wind him up as a joke.
"Carly" he began. I continued to read my book. "Carlyyyy" he said again, shaking my knee. I began to laugh and continued to ignore him. "You can't hear me?!" Sal said with a laugh. I just smirked. "Well, I'll have to get your attention" Sal said. He crept closer to me and began to tickle me.
"Sal stop" I said with a laugh. He carried on to tickle me. I was laughing until I was out of control. We ended up rolling of the sofa and landed on the floor. As I fell on top of Sal, I took the opportunity to tickle him. Sal hated being tickled, but he always loved it when I did because it would make him laugh.
"Carly stop" he joked with a laugh. "I actually want to tell you something" he said with a laugh between each word. I stopped for a moment, as I sat up, and so did he.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"Oh so you can hear me now?" Sal joked as he held my hand.  I Laughed then looked deep into his green eyes, getting lost in them. "So I was wondering if you'd like to be my date to this family dinner party thing?" Sal asked.
"Definitely!!" I replied with a large smile.

The night rolled around and me and Sal walked up to the door of their parents place where the party was. We walked hand in hand as we rang the doorbell. I could tell Sal was nervous as he held my hand tighter and tighter.
"It will be okay" I whispered to him. He gave me a relieved smile as the door opened.
"Hello!" Sal's mum said to us. She gave me a hug and Sal laughed.
"Hey mom" Sal said, giving her a hug. I cleared my throat as a hint for Sal to introduce me. "Mom, this is Carly... my girlfriend" Sal told her.
"It's a pleasure to meet you! Come in!" She said.

"I must say your son is amazing" I said go Sal's parents. I leaned in to kiss Sal's cheek, but he turned his head and I caught his lips instead. We both sweetly laughed, and his parents smiled.
"Look, Amanda is here!" Sal's mother said. Me and Sal turned around, but we could only hear her voice in the crowed.
"Everyone- I have bought my boyfriend with me!" She said.
"Amanda has a boyfriend?!" Sal said quite shocked. She stepped in front of us holding hands with Gary.
"Oh no!" Me and Sal said in unison.
