I stared directly into Gary's eyes, searching for a reasonable answer. He obviously didn't expect for Amanda to say anything, as he looked just as shocked as me. I slowly felt Sals warm hand in my hand, for sympathy.
"What do you mean, taking over my business!?" I shouted at Gary.
"Look, I just meant~" Gary began.
"What?!" I asked.
"That maybe I could take over. You haven't been showing up much recently~" Gary began.
"I'm sorry! Since when was that your issue. You don't work there! You shouldn't even be here!!! And Amanda, watch out. Gary will make you feel loved one second and hated in the next!!!" I shouted across the table. I got up and stormed off. I knew I couldn't return as I made a fool of myself, and I wanted to leave with the little amount dignity I had left.
I was walking halfway down the path, when I felt someone softly grab my arm. I turned around to see it was Sal.
"Look! I'm sorry" I said straight away.
"No don't be. He deserves it!" Sal said. It made it better knowing Sal was on my side.
"I actually have a question for you" Sal began looking nervous.
"What is it?" I asked with a smile as he calmed me down.
Sal slowly got down on one leg
"Will you~" he began.
